Say you are a Tico, and want to visit Managua, Nicaragua. What are the immigrations procedures and fees like? Does one need to pay for a Visa? Is it possible to travel just using one's "CEDULA", or would one need to have a Passport? Planning to ride in via TicaBus. Any special recommendations? Anyone here ever visit there? Any hotel in special you would recommend staying? Is it safe there in Managua? Safer than San Jose? Are they hostile against Ticos there to the point one should take extra precautions?

All info will be appreciated. Thanks!

you will need your passport. not sure if ticos need to get a visa or not. i've only been to san juan del sur and had a great time. $1 a beer on the beach keeps me happy.

It amazes me that Nicaragua slapped a Visa on Ticos wanting to travel to that country.

Just plain retarded.

What was the reasoning behind it? Ticos tease us too much?
