Is it just me, or does it seem that the QUALITY of posts on all of the major sports betting forums seems to be heading southward?

And if so, what are the reasons that drive good posters way?

Any thoughts?

Lastly, what would it take to raise the bar a notch or two?

Thanks,

THE SHRINK

The quality of the posts seem about the same. However the integrity of some site owners has seemed to slide.

There are many on here with their own agendas. I prefer post that make people think and reason rather than bragging and boasting or grandstanding. If you can wade through the crap, there is information out there.

I think the posts are about the same as this time last year....If I see a post I do not like I just do not click on it...simple. everyone is different at these forums and IMO it makes it stronger that way and adds variety in itself

Just a look at the NBA forum says it for me. All people do is post sides, no rhyme or reason, everyone wants to be the weeks hot handicapper and post their incredible record.

And there are some real idiots posting. Keep getting rid of the crap (and not re-inviting them back).

there is lull in the action. no football, college hoops are winding down, in a little while with the baseball picking up, we should be back on track.

One persons opinion so take it for what it's worth!!LOL While this is a site with tremendous traffic there is price to be paid! The bashing and absolute ignorance of ego enhancing posters far out weigh the ones with little tolerance for such. I was first attracted to this site by an acquaintance that posted on a regular basis here and showed the class and professionalism that should represent the goals of all that play this game (Super Scout......While there are many quality cappers amongst your membership I think for the most part they are dissuaded from posting due to on going problems alluded to above. A forum with only the highest quality of cappers just isn't conducive to maintaining the cash flow this site generates. Again let me clarify, there are tremendous cappers here and the information I garner during my frequent visits is quite valuable. Yes I host a private forum!
No I have never publicized the fact here.
No we will never in our wildest dreams approach the incredible success this site has attained.
You have the ability to set the standard the question being whether you are willing to pay the price.
Great site, great moderators!!

Can you handle the truth?

Sharps used forums for info on stability of sportsbooks.
That info has been incredibly weak recently.
This is what people I know are telling me.

Less sharp people in the forums means less quality posts in my humble opinion.

I believe a lot of the sharp and best posters use this forum to share info. They don't post if they have nothing to say. What has happened now is that many people have found this site that problably don't even have off-shore accounts and don't gamble much but like to post. My only recommendation would be to move posts that have no business in the off-shore gambling forum.

If you think the sports forums here are bad, check them out at Covers.

Makes our NBA forum look like a freaking intellectual roundtable discussion group.

FSB,

Thats hilarious.

The only real problem with the sports forums here is the constant fighting, bashing, flaming, ghosting, and ego boosting my the posters. If they only understood and were able to go by the motto of "actions speak louder than words" and let their RESULTS do the talking and ego boosting for them, there would be no problems. The only thing real gamblers want to see from other posters is Results. If a capper has good results then he will be recognized without ghosting and constant self thread bumping. There used to be a time at the RX not too long ago when a Capper would go 3-1 and a handful of people would come into his thread to praise and thank him and congratulate him on a great night. Now the only time people come into someones thread is when the person has a bad night. If there was just some postive reinforcement in the sports forums instead of all the negativity things would be alot better. I dont post here often anymore, but I will admit, there are some very good cappers found buried inside these forums, who keep a low profile. Its the other cappers that seemingly appear to be surprised whenever they have a good night.....suprised so much that they have to bump their thread and go into other threads proclaming their greatness, that are known in the forums today. Just let your plays do the talking and accolades will follow! Trust me on this one!

I believe the posts here have some value although you have to look for it. I believe this is true in the NBA forum as well. OccamsRazor is one poster that comes to mind.

As far as other boards go, all I see are picks with very little explanation. The technical areas are rather sparse.

Totally agree MC. I like some parts of Covers more than here, but the forums there are a joke. I would say about 75% of the posts there are a joke, flaming, etc.

Bottom line, as much as I hate to say it, is that there are a lot of unmovably upset people on this forum. If more of them followed the route of DeNiro I think we probably would be better off.

When you have this core of a number of disgruntled people that stick around and just spread their venom, often against people who are unfortunate enough to be sided with someone they don't like, then the place has a hard time improving. People surely have the right to an opinion, even one that goes against anyone working here, but it often just drags the whole place down. These people upset about Panam or some other past occurences of bad books, I totally understand your displeasure as it sucks to get money stolen from you. But really now, what has happened has happened. Either deal with that and stop the endless bashing of people that in the end didn't control the finances of Panam, or find another place to bash people if that is what makes you feel better about it.

How hard would it be to form a "club" of posters, all of whom have banks of at least 50k? I doubt those people would post much crap (although they might not be inclined to share useful things as well)

Posting persona is a term we hear from time to time. Everyday when I open up, or refresh a forum page, I look for the last post in various topics. Inevitably there will be posts by what Wild Bill referred to as disgruntled posters. Right now I am at the point that just seeing the handle in the "last post" area, I can make an accurate quess as to the content of the hidden post. This is not necessarly a bad thing, just something that has evolved because of agenda driven posters. There are plenty of posters who are informative, diverse, well rounded, and fair minded in their assements of the wide variety of topics that appear here in the Offshore Forum. While with some, not many, it always comes down to why this, or that person is in the wrong, constatntly implying someone else is to blame for their problems. As far as the BetPanAm situation goes, I truly believe everyone here at The Rx. is EXTREMELY upset about what has transpired, unfortunately there is not much (beside wait and see what develops) that anyone can do about it. We all hope that everyone is paid very soon. Constant finger pointing, and bashing is not going to help, in fact it can only lead to a deaper divide between all of us who want to see the situation resolved quickly and fairly.

wil.

When Shrinkster created this thread, there was a reason. He had somebody in mind, possibly a thread or two he had just stumbled on. Wonder if he could enlighten us and tell us who or which ones..........
