Many think PUDGE is a SURE HOF'er....NO QUESTIONS ASKED IF HIS CAREER ENDED TONIGHT!!

Remember, Dewey is OFF the ballot.

Catching is one thing, right field another.
Catchers tend to get a bye at the plate to a certain extent.

Fish , why didn't Dewey just catch...he'd be in already?

Who would have ran on Evans?

U gotta give some consideration to the fact that Ivan is a catcher. Also, how many seasons did Evans play? 21? IROD....10?

I realize that SHERMAN!!

But most everybody is willing to put PUDGE in the HOF right now if he never played another game.......meanwhile, DEWEY is off the ballot and the casual fan has no idea who DEWEY even is!!

LOL, I thought this was about Pudge Fisk, not Rodriguez.

I didn't read the first sentence of Fish's post close enough.

Dwight Evans hit .272 for his long career.
Pudge is at .307 lifetime right now.

Assuming Sherman's right about Pudge having played 10 seasons then he HAS to be in the Hall right now. He's won a GG every year and averaged almost 200 hits and 100 RBI per year while doing so; he's automatic. I myself would put Evans in but I do think he's borderline.

Why are you showing a picture of Darrell Evans and not Dwight (Dewey) Evans?

And no, Darrell, nor Dwight should be in the HOF.

Sorry about Dewey. Fish would always rave about that guy. Will Rice make it?
