B'man, Bushay, Vic, etc.--I realize it is a bit premature, but with all the fantasy football hype surrounding this weekend and next, I thought I would just throw this out there as a reminder/indication of interest to revisit "Pucks R Us" fantasy hockey for the upcoming season.

If we have similar interest to last year, count me in. I would even be willing to ante up a few bucks for the fun.

Will check back every so often to see the status. Otherwise, feel free to email me.

Cheers!:drink:

I'm up for a funded league, perhaps on the line of $50.

12 teams, $400 to the winner, $200 to 2nd place?

Of course I'm game And $50 is probably all were going to get together from 10 guys in these times. Joltin Joe from the baseball league wants in as well if theres room. I'm in favor of Whale running it if he's game. I know Yahoo doesn't offer the Hockey leagues till the last minute like last year. So let's get this organized on our end asap so we all good to go when it's offered. We were in Yahoo last year weren't we? Or was it ESPN?

Good topic Artie-strange you left out the Whale-but I will forgive you.
I think 12 guys for $50 sounds great. I will pull the old league and see who was in and I know we don't want 1 or 2. I will start a new thread this week. Just over a month until opening night!!!

WW--My apologies, I was tired, and forgive me, I drew a blank on your user name and all I could remember was you were from Rochester and that your son and/or wife were in the league (I think both) with us.

Count me in.

The 1st annual reigning champ is back to defend his title. Bring your A game this season boys. People will begin to talk if I run away with this thing a 2nd year. @):)

Yahoo's top one hundred fantasy choices.

Zach Parise number 4? Not in my wildest dreams can I imagine anyone selecting him that high. Would you?

Well, he was my top forward last season and helped me do pretty well. But with Lemaire at the helm in NJ this season, it's possible that scenario may change as he implements a defensive first strategy wherever he's been.I still wouldn't hesitate taking him with a mid round draw.

DM--If you want in, you have my vote.

Vic & Bushay--As for Zach Parise, he maybe the most underrated player in the NHL. Playing in NJ, he is overshadowed by the Rangers, as well as the tri-state area teams, in the press. Perhaps he gets more ink in Canada, but here in NY, he does not get nearly close to the attention he deserves.

I'm not knocking Zach Parise Artie and I know how productive he was for Bushay last year. I'm just saying if I'm selecting number 4 in a draft there is no way I'm taking him over several choices. Datsyuk, Kovalchuk, Richards, Nash, Iginlia, Thornton, Carter......Hell, I'd even take a healthy Vinny Lecavalier, (who they rank #20), playing on a line with St Louis and Tanguay over Parise.

Vic--And I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with your assessment of the rankings. Parise may or may not be too high in the rankings. Taking into consideration he will be playing in a Jacques Lamaire defensive system, as Bushay points out, I wouldn't take him that high.

However, looking at those rankings, there are several I would not agree with. Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf #5 and #6 respectively? IMO, too high.

Jason Blake in the Top 50? Other than SOG, I don't recall him having any value. Henrik Lundqvist seemed a little low.

I guess we can all give our opinions on who should be ranked where, but I guess that's where the draft will come in. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Nick Lidstrom at #66, even at 40 years old....was a bit suspect to me. In fact, a lot of the Wings were a bit low, especially with Hossa out of the picture. Although..the Wings were NEVER a stat oriented team. Strike that last part. But just a heads up....if I'm up at 66 and Lidstrom's still around....don't get too disappointed if YOUR at 67 and need another dman.

Hi, If there's room left I would like to join. I tried to signup last year but it was already full. So if there is a spot I would love to join.

Thanks.

ESPN's "fantasy staff" has released their top 200 choices after sitting in a circle and passing a pipe around.

http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/hockey/fhl/story?page=NHLDK2K9_Ranks

Tim Thomas ranked 4th...ahead of Sidney Crosby? I just took Thomas in the fourth round, (45th overall), in a yahoo.com league. They have Roberto Luongo ranked 25th...Henrik Lundqvist ranked 83rd. Come on.

Zedeno Chara ranked 7th!!? How can they justify a player that collected 50 points to be ranked this high? Meanwhlie they have another defensemen, (Mike Green, 73 points), listed in the 18th spot. Don't bogart my friend.

They also have Victor Hedman listed at 149 AND 151, ($5 and $4).
Move over Sedin twins we've got the Hedman boys in TB.
