Remember when the left pretended to be all outraged about President Bush gathering phone call information on agents of foreign powers?

That was funny. Anyway,

An independent executive branch board has concluded that the National Security Agency’s long-running program to collect billions of Americans’ phone records is illegal and should end.

In a strongly worded report to be issued Thursday, the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB) said that the statute upon which the program was based, Section 215 of the USA Patriot Act, “does not provide an adequate basis to support this program.”

....
We have not identified a single instance involving a threat to the United States in which the telephone records program made a concrete difference in the outcome of a counterterrorism investigation,” said the report, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Post. “Moreover, we are aware of no instance in which the program directly contributed to the discovery of a previously unknown terrorist plot or the disruption of a terrorist attack.

Could not agree more. Bush's disgusting Program that Obama has continued should end immediately. G-d Bless Edward Snowden. May America someday have the leadership that lets this Patriot come back and live his life in peace here.

This isn't 'Bush's Program' at all.

Anyway, you voted for this.

Twice. And you probably believed Obama when he said he was all opposed to this sort of thing.

Congratulations, Rube.

Of course it's Bush's Program. You just lack the integrity to admit it because you're a partisan hack. I never voted for W, so don't blame me for it's institution. I most certainly blame Obama for it's continuation, and it's one of many disappointments with him.

Notice you can not utter 1 single sentence of criticism of Obama without mentioning Bush.

This is not Bush's program at all. You have no idea what Bush authorized in comparison what Obama has authorized. The silly equivalence allows you to pretend that your hypocrisy is justified.

Congrats on voting for this, twice.

Your comments on "partisan hack" are projection.

Of course it is, liar. Unlike you, I can admit that the guy I voted for screwed up, badly. http://rt.com/usa/bush-nsa-spying-clapper-632/

Um, Bush isn't the President so I don't have to criticize him at all.

Note that you simply can not utter a critical word of Obama without injecting Bush.

Also note: this program was reauthorized in 2012. It is Obama's. He owns it, and even better, the scope has expanded.

The FBI has dramatically increased its use of a controversial provision of the Patriot Act to secretly obtain a vast store of business records of U.S. citizens under President Barack Obama, according to recent Justice Department reports to Congress. The bureau filed 212 requests for such data to a national security court last year – a 1,000-percent increase from the number of such requests four years earlier, the reports show.

....
Taken together, experts say, those revelations show the government has broadly interpreted the Patriot Act provision as enabling it to collect data not just on specific individuals, but on millions of Americans with no suspected terrorist connections.

Don't worry, you have the sweet comfort of your silly lies to help you along.

Um, now you've been reduced to pretending that "reauthorized" equals "exactly the same'

You're pathetic.

The Bush administration shut down its warrantless wiretapping program in 2007

You can not utter 1 single word of criticism of the President you voted for twice without injecting "Bush"

Um, this is not what Bush was doing:

What was not explained at the time, Chesney notes, is that the FBI was using the Section 215 requests to obtain a broad array of records. For example, a top-secret FISC order disclosed last week by the Guardian showed that the FBI had used a single Section 215 request to direct Verizon to turn over “all call detail records or telephony metadata’’ of its customers for a three month period, literally millions of records.

Oh, and remember how the Bush NSA was run by a bunch of jokers who let a 29 year old 3 month, contractor steal documents and run off to Hong Kong?

Me too!

ACLU: Obama Worse Than Bush On Civil Liberty Issues

Probably because he's just like continuin Bush's progams and stuff!

It should go without saying that Obama the individual is responsible for all that he says and does. But not when you're an Obama supporter. You have to invoke Bush.

Q: When did you decide to leak the documents?
A: "You see things that may be disturbing. When you see everything you realise that some of these things are abusive. The awareness of wrong-doing builds up. There was not one morning when I woke up [and decided this is it]. It was a natural process.
"A lot of people in 2008 voted for Obama. I did not vote for him. I voted for a third party. But I believed in Obama's promises. I was going to disclose it [but waited because of his election]. He continued with the policies of his predecessor."

I Have criticized Obama many times independent of Bush. His desire to invade Syria, which Putin luckily nipped in the bud, is just one off the top of my head. But when he reauthorizes a Program Bush started, it's pretty hard to exclude Bush. But keep doing what you're doing. The Cult Likes. They like to defend Bush. Their leader even called the economy under him The Bush Boom.

Actually, it isn't.

See, the NSA first starting collecting phone call data in the 1970's - under executive direction.

Nobody is accusing Bush of continuing a Carter program are they?
