....For The Economic Crisis"

I think it's clear this President can't wait to run away from the mess he created and IGNORING. Upon exit, an apology is a little too late. Take your apology, shove it up your ass and just get the fuck out George.

Bush: "I Was Unprepared For War," "I'm Sorry" For The Economic Crisis

ABC News/AP/CNN | December 1, 2008 11:32 AM

President Bush let it all out today during an interview with ABC News' Charlie Gibson. Bush delivered a mea culpa on Iraq, the economic crisis and the 2008 election outcome for Republicans.

Below are three write-ups on different parts of the interview:

From ABC News: Bush on the Iraq War...
Looking back on his eight years in the White House, President George W. Bush said he was "unprepared" for war and pinpointed incorrect intelligence that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction as "biggest regret of all the presidency."

"I think I was unprepared for war," Bush told ABC News' Charlie Gibson in an interview airing today on "World News." "In other words, I didn't campaign and say, 'Please vote for me, I'll be able to handle an attack,'" he said. "In other words, I didn't anticipate war. Presidents -- one of the things about the modern presidency is that the unexpected will happen."

From AP: Bush on the economic crisis...
President George W. Bush expressed remorse that the global financial crisis has cost jobs and harmed retirement accounts and said he'll back more government intervention if needed to ease the recession.

"I'm sorry it's happening, of course," Bush said in a wide-ranging interview with ABC's "World News," which was airing Monday. "Obviously I don't like the idea of people losing jobs, or being worried about their 401(k)s. On the other hand, the American people got to know that we will safeguard the system. I mean, we're in. And if we need to be in more, we will."

FDR was unprepared for WWII...he didn't have an excuse.

At least Bush has a very good one.

Unlike FDR who went to war against two nations who had formally declared war against the USA, Mr Bush initiated his own war in Iraq.

Sadly for him, it was a horrible call.

Not at all...Iraq has been a great victory for him.

History is on my side...Truman is now appreciated as well.

This is what happens once you get past the kneejerk reactions...and look at the world through the prism of reality.

Sure it has been

Have no idea what Truman, who initiated no wars, has to do with Mr Bush who initiated the US military commiting mass murder in Iraq, but in a pinch I suppose any non-sequiter serves to fill space in a sports handicapping PoliticoPub

Will be interesting to see what he chooses to live for now that he's supposedly given up partying and no longer has a sex life unless he wants to commit adultery - something that's hard to do for any public figure.

There is always internet sports wagering. I might have someone slip a parlay card under his door when he gets here.

Internet forums are troll heaven.

Especially for someone who is utterly anonymous, eh Joe Jr?

Those of us who are virtually transparent can't really hide behind troll IDs since our words are always connected to a real live person

If we didn't love America, those of us who denounce Mr Bush as an instigator of war that's killed tens of thousands would not feel any outrage.

Thankfully, even he himself is admitting his incompetency as he heads on down the road to Texas.

Trolling with your ID is a special category commonly referred to as an "attention whore" sub specie of troll.

Regardless of the sub specie of troll...ID is irrelevant.

I have respect for president bush. I don't think he did a good job in office for the states, but I still respect him. People sometimes forget that being President of a nation, especially the United States of America, is the toughest, most pressure filled job in the world. Obviously it has its upsides like the power and prestige, but the entire nation is debating every decision you make and most of the time at the very least 35-40% of the people will not agree with the decision you've made. People don't seem to understand the degree of difficulty of his job. He had to make a decision on VERY important issues and he had to make them quickly and confidently. He made a choice and stood by it. For that I have respect for him, even if it was the wrong choice.

Looking forward to seeing the Barack Obama era though. Should be very interesting.

OTK,

I hear what your sayin about respecting him and standing behind his decision. But what else can he say? He fucked up royally and on the grandest scale. A meaningless war, country in the worst shape since god knows when; it's a hollow apology if you ask me. Especially since the man wanted to go to war whether it was the right thing to do or not.

The actions (or the lack thereof) of his administration in his final days speak volumes about the total and complete mismanagement he's done to our country. It's par for the course of his last 8 years.
