The historical record of far-right ridiculousness has been well-documented here and throughout the internet.

But I don't think we ever anticipated that the presidency of Barack Obama would, among other things, send the far-right into a freakazoid display of shockingly deranged conniptions and outright crazy talk -- their manic hyperdrive engines, fueled by Rush Limbaugh's gesticulating arm flab, blasting them out of their political Mos Eisley cantina scene and expelling them a thousand parsecs beyond the zero barrier of insanity.

Too much?

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the lies or distortions or their utter lack of credibility (zero cred) on broad-ranging issues like, you know, foreign policy and the economy. What we have here is the equivalent level of chaos as, say, the first group therapy scene from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. In other words: a total berserker meltdown.

Seriously, have you ever seen the Republicans more twisted and kerfuffled than they are today? Movie metaphors aside, I've been hard pressed to find greater examples of insanity from the far-right than have been exhibited in the past week alone. Here we have a Republican Party that's been discredited and bloodied, and yet in the face of an enormously popular president who is confounding conventional wisdom while building a working consensus among American voters, the Republicans appear to be reflexively coughing up the most intellectually violent chunks of hooey on record.\

Republicans are screaming about Fear mongering even though we had 8 years of this (Bushs famous Mushroom cloud speech) http://www.narsil.org/war_on_iraq/bush_october_7_2002.html

Republicans are screamng about Fiscal responsibility event though we had 8 years of this (Bush Leaves behind largest debt in the history of mankind) http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0927/p01s02-usec.html

Republicans are screaming about Free speech, even though we had eight years of this (protests emoblden terrorists) http://www.bobcesca.com/blog-archives/2005/01/david_drier_pro.html .

They're honest to God screaming about Fascism, even though we had eight years of this.(the Death of Habeus Corpus) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15220450/

That's very funny. Honest to God I was just about to post the same article! I'm not too familiar with the author but this is a great piece.

Reasoning skills just not a strong suit of the loonie left. You two should stick to your strengths;

"I turn Republicans into crybabies"

"only Republicans commit argumentative fallacies"

:lol:

That does explain it then :):) if you make it down here bring some warm clothes it's been cold.

Yep you are definitely RIGHT SIR.. Idaho is about as back ASSWARD state as there can be... Idaho up until the last election was the most REPUBLICAN State in the Union.. So feel free to make fun of Idaho all you want.. Because I wholeheartedly agree that most of the people up here are MORONS.. they voted for Mccain/Palin.

thing is, democrats ran against many of the same tactics they're employing now. fear mongering? yeah, only thing is dems swore they were above it. politics as usual. we'll be lucky to get through the next 4 years without being in a permanent state of fucked-upedness considering the way the first 3 weeks have gone. obama's a weak leader as evidenced by the infighting of his own party, and so far his judgement in selecting his admin has plain sucked. sure, he came out and signed a few token bills and whatnot, but let's see him actually take charge. what's he going to do when public opinion levels off about a month from now? a weak leader invites his subordinates to challenge his authority and obama better shore this up or this country's going to be a laughing stock and manipulated by the likes of iran.

the thing with obama is that the he was the square play. public slaughter. african american mothers who have lost sons due to terrorist attacks decline invitations to the white house....

soon his only supporters are going to be those waiting on their government check, and when those don't come as expected he's going to lose them folk.

thing with biden, maybe people should have paid better attention to him a couple years ago. there's no arguing that he is an honorable man, considering his personal past and his years as a public servant. lot of experience there. we'd be better served if it were biden/obama instead of the other way around. oh well. at least america made history a few weeks ago.
