I am a long time holdem player and it is obviously my bread and butter... but I use to play omaha at home cheap games and loved the game. So I started playing online pl omaha hi/low and doing pretty well. I know A/A/2/3 double suited is like the best hand... and what not. But 1 question I have is how good is a hand like A/A/K/Q 1 suited or a hand like A/A/9/9 double suited. I have lost s few hands with these pushing hard preflop going all in... then losing to some garbage hand. SO I guess I'm gonna answer my own question and say not to push too hard with these hands pre flop... cuz my percentages aren't good with those type of hands. SO

In general you don't really want to raise too much pre flop because any body can pull the winner out of there hat with any two cards, and there's guarantee your a/a/2/3 ds is any good either pre flop. Anyways let this thread help me and a few others you pros share your advice. thx in advance:toast:

Its all about position. I wouldnt want to be pushing those hands UTG because no hand is a HUGE favorite over any other in this game. In fact if u raised UTG with A2A3 dbl suited and got say 4 callers u might not even be a favorite even though u have the best hand...
But in late position get it all in there.. In a tight game maybe u have 4 guys already limped in . raising might get u heads up with 1 of them then its fine but if all 4 call your in a race with nobody heavily favored PF..

Personally in early position i sometimes fold AAxx if i have no low or suited A's. I certainly (unless its very late in a MTT) dont raise pot with them or call a pot size raise. Heres an unrelated tip for blind defending. Due to the fact that ppl will frequently try to steal with Big pairs regardless of low cards if i have 3 cards below 8 i will think seriously about defending or even reraising..If the guys on a total bluff the reraise will often win it right then. If u call and get 2 more low cards on the flop its usually safe to get em all-in if need be..Most of the time u will split, sometimes lose but i think this play is + EV..at least it has been for me...

You absolutely MUST raise with those hands and reraise when you can.

The only time not to raise is under the gun with intentions of reraising later
