Brett Favre week 1, fade whatever the fuck team he is on.

The media is talking about how great this guy, and how is so good, and he was so close to the superbowl. But the point is, they didnt make the superbowl because of him. He had a great team around him, and he didnt make the superbowl, what changes now? He got older, hes gonna get worse, why the hell would the Packers have a better chance to make the superbowl now? The chances dont get better, its not even logical, in fact they lost one of there OL.

The guy had 2 horrific years before last year and the media has decided to completely ignore that like it neve rhappened. Who is to say Brett doesnt go right back to that.

The guy is selfish, hes taken shots at his WR core, hes talken shots at Mccarthy by saying he wished the Maruicci would have been interveiwed by Thompson.

I cant wait, I just cant wait to see the pathetic circus thats gonna be around this, and I cant wait to fade the team he is on, and laugh at him when he looks like a complete fucking idiot.

I will be fading him no questions asked, and will take whatever team he plays for under for the season total, but I'm still not convinced he is going to come back anywhere.

If I'm the Packers I just let him sit on the bench. I've always respected the guy because he is truly one of the good role models in the league and has always been a great guy, and he still is, but he's being a fucking drama queen and I'm tired of him crying his eyes out at the end of every season. If it was one season, that's fine, but it has happened the past three years and it's annoying. The Packers owe him nothing. If anything he is hurting the team right now because of all the media shit going on and the fact that he has got to be getting into the head of Rodgers. Now if he plays bad early the season you know fans will be chanting for Favre and it's ridiculous.

Anyways, I'll be with you in fading #4 early on, and for most of the season.

You'll fade because you are a hater. I wouldn't fade the man but I guess that is why we disagree. To say you will fade someone before you even know what team he is "potentially" going to play for is simply stupid.

I'm not a hater. I actually was a big fan of his growing up, but he is over the hill IMO, and you could tell last year in the playoffs. Is he still decent? Yes, but definitely not a top 15 QB IMO, and he will get a top 5 QB line for whoever he plays with.

The only teams I wouldn't fade him on are very good defensive teams that could make up for below average play from the QB.

I dont see the point of proving a point without calling someone an idiot and stupid even if you feel that way.

Anyway Ive thought for years now that he is overrated, and now I think he is beyond overrated, ive already explained why, but this guy throws more picks then touchdowns, he had one good year in the last 4 and people are all over him, there are much better QB's.

The fact that people dismiss Aaron Rodgers so easily amazes me. You know all QB's at one point have had to prove themselves. When Brett Farve came in, im sure people werent that happy or overwhelmed. There was no excitement sorrounding him, its the same way with Aaron Rodgers. I think the kid will be good, I think he has great potential, and I think in the limited action he has seen he does not look bad at all and he deserves it 100%.

I understand what you are saying but I don't think I can name 10 other QB's that are playing right now that are better. I'd put him in the top 10 which gets most teams to the playoffs.

Let me try and in no particular order:

Manning
Brady
Romo
Palmer(maybe)
McNabb(maybe by a little)
Hasselbeck

I know you will have a few more that you think are better. Maybe you can list and we can discuss.

I thought he (Rogers) performed well in the Dallas game and he looked really sharp. He may be injury prone and we'll soon find out. I just think if you have a Hall of Famer kind of guy like Favre you leave the door open just a crack all the way up to kick off of the first game.

My apologies for calling you an idiot. That was out of line.

And I understand 100% completely why someone would take Brett Farve in a heartbeat over Rogers. But I think you have to think long term if you are the packers or really any NFL Franchise. Lets pretend Brett comes back, they make the playoffs, lose, and then he finally retires. Aaron Rodgers is sick of the shit (hes a FA next year), leaves the team, which would be understandable to anyone, now what? Youve been prepping this guy for 4 years now while Brett does his dance, when do you move on, do you balance your whole team on this guy, balance the whole franchise? If Brett retires and Aaron leaves then they are really fucked beyond belief and they are officially rebuilding.

I think its the same way with Minnesota, they have Tavaris Jackson, who they obviously like, and thats why I dont see anyway that the Vikings would even attempt to get him. If you get Farve its the same scenario I just described as Rodgers.

The only way I think Farve is worth the risk is if you are a team, like Atlanta, like Baltimore, like Tampa Bay, like Detriot, like Chicago. But none of those teams have a chance because of drama queen Farve!

Atlanta and Tampa Bay? Doesnt want to play in hot weather (said it on fox report), and he said neither are very high on his list
Chicago and Detriot? Greenbay wouldnt trade him there
Baltimore? They dont want him

Moving on even farther, the team that he plays for, will most likely be a bad team, all the good teams are set at QB. This wont suit Farve because he wants to play for a good team.

Farve is a wildcard right now, in my opinion, the Packers are handing this bueatifully because if they let him come back, they might, and underline the word might because its a big might, have a good season, and then what? We do this dance again?

Somewhere along the line one side(Favre or the Pack) pissed the other off and now we have a pissing match. Hopefully they can resolve it and move forward with both sides being happy. Now the Pack allege tampering charges by the Vikings and the league is looking into it.

I love Favre and just can't believe he brought this all on himself. Negative publicity is just that, negative. Both sides are looking silly.

I don't think making Rogers sit another year is that big of deal if someone like Favre wanted to come back. I just don't. Sure Rogers may walk after this season based on his contract. See ya! Either way the Pack will be essentially reloading/rebuilding when Favre is gone in this scenario.

Favre wants to start and play for a winner. The teams that can offer him this are very limited.

Stay tuned as the soap opera continues. Should be fun and I'm ready for foots to start NOW!

Die Hard Viking Fan,

The Packers were so close to the superbowl last year and Favre was a big part. Who gives the Packers the best chance to win... Favre easily. Thompson should of swallowed some pride and just said ok Brett welcome back even though Favre is a media whore.

QB's I would list ahead of Favre are:

Manning
Brady
Palmer
Romo
Hasselbeck
Big Ben
Bulger
Brees
Cutler (this might be a bit of a homer pick, but this kid is a stud and actually draws a lot of Brett Favre comparisons)
Delholmme (people forget how good he can be when healthy and with only one good WR and no solid running game)
McNabb (this is debatable IMO, not a big fan of his anymore)
Eli Manning

That's 12 QB's and then I would throw in fliers that I think could be better than Favre this season. Guys like Leinart, Rodgers, Schuab, Garrard, Rivers, Anderson or even Brady Quinn might be better right now if he was given a shot.

Favre is undoubtedly one of the best of all time, but like someone's said he's only had one good year in the past 3-4 seasons, and he still threw too much INT's and a big one when it counted. We both know that's a throw Favre would have NEVER missed in his prime. It was a simple out pattern and he made a throw that cost his team the season. Would they have been there without him? That's debatable because they have so many good players on both sides of the ball and got great play from their secondary all year, but I doubt it because Rodgers needs experience.

If they start Rodgers now they might miss the playoffs this season, but in 2-3 years they'll be contenders for the Super Bowl again if they can keep the team intact, which shouldn't be too hard. All this kid needs is experience to become a star.

Ok but the point is there are some people saying that last year might have been one of his best years, who's to say he goes right back to that, the guy is like a light switch. If he goes back to the Packers, and there is a prop bet somewhere that the Packers wont win the superbowl. I will find a million dollars, and bet it all on that and not make one other bet.

All these QB's are good but I don't think they should be ranked higher than Favre.

You have a good list.

One thing I'm not sure you noticed, maybe you did though, the Manning I listed was Peyton and NOT Eli. Where is Eli?:missingte

Big ben is the most underrated QB in the whole league. He throws a lot of touchdowns, he has a great %, he improves his int numbers every year, hes huge and can avoid the rush. He can pass on the run. In fact id go so far is to say that he is the 3rd or 4th best QB in the league.

PS. Carson Palmer is the most overrated QB ever, what has he done? Had one playoff team in 4 year, thats not a great QB.
