Was wondering if there was any interest in another pool tourney. Was planning it for July 11th or 12th with a location to be determined (prolly Bar Amigos in Santa Ana).
In the past we always had a 16 man double elimination, but this time I am looking for a 8 MAN DOUBLE ELIMINATION TOURNEY (8 BALL) with a 10,000 colones entry fee paying out the top 2 finishers. We are looking for a late start, around 9:30pm.
POOL TOURNAMENT RULES
1. Flip a coin to determine who breaks.
2. After the break - It is OPEN table, even if you make a ball in a hole.
3. Absolutely NO SLOP - Must call exactly what will happen
COMBO RULES
a) always must hit your ball first, no matter what
b) never may hit 8 ball first in a combo
c) after you hit your ball 1st, you may use your oppenent's ball in the combo
d) remember in a combo, you must call what happens exactly
4. a) After you hit your ball in and an oppenent's ball accidently goes in afterwards, THAT IS GOOD and you continue shooting.
b) But, if you attempt to hit your ball in, and the opponent's ball goes in FIRST and then your ball goes in the pocket you called afterwards, THAT IS NO GOOD. Your ball always has to enter pocket first.
c) If you hit a ball that you called in a pocket, and then if one of your other balls drizzle into some pocket AFTERWARDS (even though you did not call it) THAT IS GOOD and still your shot.
5. Breaks- What if this happened?
a) 8 ball in on break =winner
b) 8 ball and cue ball in on break =loser
c) 8 ball in and cue ball off the table =loser
d) Cue ball off the table =scratch
e) Never do we pull balls out of the pockets after they already went in the pocket (except cue ball)
6. Fouls - You may not double hit, do a push shot, do a illegal jump shot (must hit on top of ball to jump correctly), touch with your cue stick any other ball except the cue ball, may not touch any ball on the table with your hand, shirt, face, etc. and if any of these things listed above happen, IT IS A LOSS OF SHOT AND YOUR OPPONENT'S TURN. Also, one foot must always be on the floor (should not be a problem since the tables are bar size) while shooting.
7. In prior tournament's held we had some problems with people not attempting to hit their ball on purpose (since they didn't have a shot)....therefore playing very dirty pool.....this will not be accepted....either play a legal safety or go for a crazy shot attempting to hit your ball first. If WE notice anybody purposely doing this (sloppy pool) the game will be forfeited and a victory given to the CLEAN player.
If you are intreested chime in so we can hold your spot!!!
