Can't remember who but in his (petty sure) last fight, Oscar fought one of the best fights in his career. I just remember being very impressed.

Oscar's speed is fantastic, but I think he's slowed down some. Pacquiao an the other hand is as fast as he's ever been so I can see the possibility of him outpointing Oscar in a very close decision. Comparing the two of them in terms of power, Oscar should be able to hurt Manny once or twice, especially if Manny is caught dropping his right hand. Manny would almost have to stay close and win the war inside which is the way he might win this fight (in a decision.)

Not that I think it will shake out that way but it's a possibility.

Pacman is faster but the reach will be a problem

unlike most guys he fight he wont be able to get in as De La Hoya jabs in

also watch out for the uppercut as Pacman tries ot bob and weave in comes in

once he lands upper cut De La Hoya will go left hook

this wont last past the 8th round

The difference in natural weights between De la Hoya and Mayweather was far less than the difference between him and Pacquiao. This is a total cop out by Oscar. He's much, much bigger and much stronger. If Mayweather couldn't hurt him, how the hell is Pacquiao going to? Its simply too high of a fight weight for a guy that started at 107ish. Oscar wins going away.

I think Manny is walking around at or near the 140ish mark naturally. I know that's one of the reason he was moving up in weight when he fought Diaz, not that he couldn't make the 130 weight any more but testing out a fight at the 135 to see how comfortable he would be. Looked pretty stellar against a much slower opponet though. I can see what weezy was saying about the floyd comparison because floyd was about 2 or 3 inches shorter than Oscar and he moved up in weight to fight him but he wasn't 154 when they fought. Now on the other hand Manny's D isn't nowhere near the caliber of Floyd but I will say he might be just as quick as Money Mayweather. The thing with that fight was that Floyd didn't have to hurt him, he could just outpoint him all day. The fight will really depend on if Oscar gases out like he did against Floyd. He tried to buy rounds with his wild punches near the end of round and he might be able to succeed in this fight. Never been a big fan of Oscar. If Manny's D has improved I can see him winning outpointing him. Anyhow I'm taking Uncle Manny as the dog.

Who in their right mind really thinks MP can win this? His lack of size and aggressive fighting still will get him busted up bad.

He may win some rounds but he will take a lot of punishment in the process. I'd be amazed, if this is not a fraud of a fight, if MP can go the distance. He's so much smaller than Oscar and his style of fighting is not to outpoint, but to fight with ultra-aggression, speed & power. His lack of size and style will his downfall.

You are reading my mind.

This fight is a blowout.

Terry Norris vs Medrick Taylor repeated. Naturally bigger guy comes down from 154 to 149 to make the fight happen against a faster opponent.

The end result is, the smaller, faster guy gets demolished.

I am not comparing the fighters but I believe the end result will be the same.

I love Manny and think Oscar is a false Dick but Oscar in 2 rounds.

Meldrick Taylor was also going to be one of the greats before he got robbed of his fight against Chavez by Richard Steele and had career ending brain damage afterwards. I just think its a bad comparison.

That is exactly why i think Pacquaio will win, he can go the distance. Has he ever been knocked out? yeah, once, in '96. Oscar will not knock him out. However Oscar has been knocked out more recently in '04 by a body shot from B-Hop. I won't deny the strength distance of B-Hop and Pacquaio but Oscar is on his way out, making his last attempts at glory while Manny is still in his prime.

I see Manny doing exactly whats expected, rushing, aggressive, lots of punches, he will not box De La Hoya. Oscar will wear out quickly, he won't be able to handle the tempo that Manny will set. Also Manny's punches will hurt oscar, without a doubt. I also see Oscars stance messing him up, i dont like his stance at all and when manny starts rushing him i see him fucking up unless he clinches a lot. One last kicker I like is that Freddy Roach has been with Pacquaio for 4 years now i believe, Roach also trained Oscar for Mayweather, the loss was not on the trainer but it does give Roach a much better advantage on training Manny for the fight.

EDIT: wanted to add as well that Oscar's confidence looks shaky calling in so many "specialists" to aide him.

Pac has been KTFO by a Flyweight.
He was also KO'd by body shots in his second loss and was wobbled by Marquez and a shot Oscar Larios.

Your dreaming if you think any of those guys hit harder than Oscar.

HBO, Oscar and the media are doing a superb job of making this fight look close. Just like Hatton/Mayweather.

Oscar by KO.

noticed after i posted that Manny did have 2 KO's, first in '96, second in '99. No i do not think the guys that knocked Manny out hit harder than Oscar. Still, I really do not feel Oscar has it anymore like he used to, were Manny is still in is prime. 6 years ago I would take Oscar, but not today.

if you think de la hoya fought one of the best fights of his career in his last fight then your delusional. he fought steve forbes who he should have torched and frankly even though he won the fight, i was very unimpressed with oscar, he looked old and slow.

i like oscar in this fight because i do think the reach will be an issue, pac man likes to get inside and then explode with quickness but de la hoya wont let him get that close, but please lets not say he looked great in his last fight, thats just untrue.
