I am playing in a home game with 5 friends. I make a bet after the river. He counts his chips in front of him pretty close to the pot but never actually says "call." The chips were being counted in front of his cards. Before he actually says call I flip over my cards. Is he allowed to count his chips out in front of his cards as long as he never says call?

come on.... its a friendly home game...

if he never says anything and is just counting chips , he isnt committed to anything. why did you turn your cards over without hearing anything ?

is their a line on the table ?

Yea but your cards should be on the table out in front of you if ur in the hand at about or near where the line would be...So unless the game is just really sloppy its almost impossible to be counting chips in front of your cards and not be intending to act...

He can count in front of his cards as long as he doesnt cross the line if your table has one.
