I could be in, but I'm also fine with just picking up next week as scheduled.

The wife wants to play, so I'm up for a game tonight if we have players.

Otherwise Maydi & I are going over to the Hotel Europa (not the Radisson). Supposedly they have a $20 buy-in NL table.

Next week it is then.

The $20 NL $0.50/$1 table at the Hotel Europa was dead. We played 3-handed a bit with an older lady who wasn't much of a player, then 2-handed until it seemed stupid to give the casino rake for playing against my wife with my own money. Of the $60 the older lady had lost, the casino rake ate up $40. LOL.

The $100 NL $1/$2 table at the Horseshoe was much better. 4-6 players, losing and gaining a few over the night. I lost quick and hard the last two times I'd played there, but this time I managed to stick it out all night, and leave with a decent profit.

Good fun, more of y'all should check it out. A few people called the table before coming in to see how many people were playing. 825-4694 or 222-6647 (Russ) are the numbers from the AM Costa Rica advertisement, or perhaps just call the Horseshoe.

apparently the CR guy Humberto Brenes (the one that won a bunch in the WSOP etc) opened a poker room , the problem is I am not sure where it is, suposely its in the Herradura by Cariari......not that I am going to drive all the way up there for that but some might find it useful , I will confirm if its there and let you all know

Tried to open a poker room, ran some tournaments and has since closed down, from what I gathered from Russ. Supposedly the girl who organized the tournaments there is coming over to help him get some stuff going at the Horseshoe.

The Radisson will stick around because if its size, the Horseshoe might because of its key location; plus Jaco and Tamarindo. Otherwise I just can't see any other poker rooms making it here.

I am learning the game, and I would like to play in a table that I don't feel a complete stranger. Do you guys only play with gringos or don't mind tico company?:hyper:

Horseshoe game was quite lively the Friday night I played there. Two guys were outright donators and it was an entertaining crowd. If you buy in for $100 and play fairly tight chances are good you will leave with some winnings. Only thing that sucks is the rake is too damn high at 10%, $4 cap.

Mr. Jinx, no problem, come on by. Wolfie is in fact our most regular Tico player.
