Seriously, banging. When on top, always support yourself with arms and concentrate on contracting abs when thrusting. Do this for 10-15 minutes at a comfortable pace and both partners get great benefit. Ten minutes is along time (Low Spark of High Heeled Boys by Traffic) but at the end abs are workrd as well as shoulders and tris.

Also, excercise use a swiss ball including lifting on the ball is great for core and abs as balancing the body constantly keeps tension on the midsection.

A good aerobic schedule that is demanding--preferably some sprint workouts thrown in once in a while will help get the abs in shape--and of course a disciplined diet.

Although "Low Spark" is a personal favorite it really is more suited for the romantic sensual rendezvous and hardly gets the heart rate up or does much to shape the six pack. If you really want steely rock hard abs, the Denise Austin way, try "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" (Iron Butterfly). You’re rectus abdominis will thank you and she'll love you long time. Very long time.

I use the exercise ball to do situps on ..seems to target the mid section if you are centered on it

I honestly believe the ab machine is the best. Like an actual ab machine that has a stack of weights that you set the pin on not something off an infomercial.

Becuase to increase the strength of the muscle, you need to do low rep high weight.

I try to do like 4 sets of 8, and the 8th one should be hard to do

A lot of other stuff just ends up being calorie burning excercise, nothing that gets your abs ripped.

Also diet is a big part of it, but I'm sure that can be assumed.

I've never done any Ab work besides the straining from weightlifting for 20 years...

I have tried that Ab-Slider...I don't know the exact name of the piece....its the one where you kneel down , grip the handles and glide out, putting all the pressure on your abdominals , anyone know the name of that one?

I highly recommend that one, its actually enjoyable and it definitely will work the hell out of your abs ....

Sit-up crunches
Start in a standard crunch position with hands interlaced behind head, lying flat on your back with knees bent and feet on the floor. As you perform each crunch, be sure the shoulder blades leave the ground and that your chin goes up to the sky and does not touch your collar bone.

As soon as 12 reps have been repeated hold the crunch position, while tightening the abs and maintaining breathing. You can increase difficulty by extending the arms straight above your head and interlacing the fingers (see picture).

That is certainly tried and true fish, but you shouldn't lock your hands behind your head. When you start to fatigue, you will start pulling your head off the mat, which completely defeats the purpose of the crunch. I simply cross my arms across my chest.

a great one is one that soccer goalkeepers use - but gives you rock like abs.

works best with a partner but a wall will do - get a soccerball or an ball that will bounce straight if you are using a wall

lie as the hot model is in the picture. get your partner to throw you the ball as you lie on your back. Then sit up as you throw it back to him.get the ball thrown left and right either in a pattern or randomly.

it works brilliantly on your abs and obliques.

it sounds strange but i played in goal in soccer to a high level for a couple of years and my abs were like rocks - i cant get anywhere near it now.
if you cant get a partner just sit with your feet on or against a wall and throw your soccer or basketball off it

I have something similar made by Nautilus but far less expensive. Cost is about 15 bucks and you can get it at most sporting goods stores. Jman is right. It works you good and depending how far down you go to the floor it hits the entire abdominal region. Fits easily into your gym bag and you can use it anywhere. Just make sure you have a towell or mat for your knees. Otherwise they take a beating as well.

The key is to build the muscle though, doing something that you can do 40 times before you are tired is worthless

you need something that puts resistance on those muscles, getting your abs ripped isnt any different from any other muscle

If you cant get to an ab machine at the gym try leg lifts with ankle weights

Before you do all of that you need modivation. I'm working on my abs now and after a week with taking every other day off i can see some results.. 3 more week and i'll have good definition. The abb machine that you were talking about Rob is great. You can acctually feel your abb muscles working.

Biking is great before you do the abb excersise also.

Yo listen before you start working on your abs be awared that the only way for you to make your abs pop out is if you keep yourself under 10% bodyfat...No matter how many exercises you try if you dont get to that point you'll see 0 results...So you can try running, spinning or anything to burn some of that extra fat before the abs exercises.

if your serious about getting a nice stomach....first thing ya gotta do is be on the right diet. Its all in what you eat - so a low fat, low carb(bad carbs) diet is ideal.

My diet is pretty simple...I avoid all the junk and saturated fats and I eat complex carbs like brown rice and baked potatoes. I consume alot of protein whether its by shakes or solid foods...

the best workout for your abs has to be roman situps.

We have a machine setup like this on the property... But this one has small handles underneath the sides of the seat part... I used to do like 80 situps on that thing..But i didnt see any significant results...I find you get a better burn if you do them on an incline!!! (at least those were much harder and more painful)

BTW...my beer gut has had no significant loss!!! Its still the same. I dont know if its diet or something...I cont eat any junk food at all and have cut down my sugar intake seriously, no more beer and this week i stepped on the scale to find i was two pounds heavier than i was last week!!!! (and this after upping my running to 2 miles 3 times a week. Not much but consider that i was running 0 miles a week before)

redpimp - it has to be your carb intake then...if you seriously want a good stomach...you gotta cut bread out, sugars (that includes soda and candy), pasta, fries, things like that....i had the same problem...i would do a crazy amount of situps but my 6 pack wasnt comin in...then i changed my diet to almost an "atkins" diet and 2 months later...my 6pack is in

it also helps to do alot of cardio to. I found that doing dead sprints is the best...I go to the local high school football stadium and do 100 yard sprints till i die. Remember...you cant spot reduce when it comes to losing fat...its an entire body thing
