No matter what the committee decided, there was going to be outrage. I feel for FSU.
But as a fan, a consumer if you will, the prospect of watching Mich boat race FSU, was an ugly thought. They'll never admit this, but I think there was some thought given to ratings, sponsors, income etc. The Mich v. Bama might more than double the numbers of a Mich v FSU.
Unfair, maybe. But it's hardly a first. Its part of why there is no longer a pac 12.
Allowing an SEC team in, one that just ended Ga's 29 game win streak, over an ACC team just seems ok. Defendable. When you add in strength of schedule (bama +40), and FSU's injured qb, I believe the committee did us a favor.
