No matter what the committee decided, there was going to be outrage. I feel for FSU.
But as a fan, a consumer if you will, the prospect of watching Mich boat race FSU, was an ugly thought. They'll never admit this, but I think there was some thought given to ratings, sponsors, income etc. The Mich v. Bama might more than double the numbers of a Mich v FSU.

Unfair, maybe. But it's hardly a first. Its part of why there is no longer a pac 12.

Allowing an SEC team in, one that just ended Ga's 29 game win streak, over an ACC team just seems ok. Defendable. When you add in strength of schedule (bama +40), and FSU's injured qb, I believe the committee did us a favor.

One final thought. I wonder if the NCAA couldn't stomach giving Harbaugh a walkover in his first game? He seems to be persona non grata in college fb. They suspended him for half his games. And I think he's moving back to NFL. Bama will give Michigan a game.

TEX V WASH

ALA V MICH

Exciting.

I hate to agree, but I have to, it‘s a better product this way…could have been a solid eight team playoff this year with fantastic story lines…12 is too watered down IMO…

Even with 12 teams there will still be arguments about who should get in over who

12 is too many and leaves the door open for a large amount of teams to whine and complain. Maybe that's what the committee wants.

8 is a good number. Who is 9 or 10 that would insist they should be in this year?

In my opinion they should scrap the bowls for the most part and create another playoff for the other conferences that never have a chance for the national title.

Liberty might end up 13-0 this year. What recognition do they get?

I've said since the playoff came into existence, that there are about 10-15 teams every year that have a shot for a national title. It's the reality!

The committee got it right this year and it sucks for FSU fans but the opening line of Georgia -12 in their bowl game speaks volumes about why FSU didn't make it.

LIke it or not the committee knew after last year's 65-7 title game debacle, they couldn't afford another laugher this year.

Sorry FSU fans.

they should have had alabama play florida st this week and the winner gets in, personally i think they were trying to stay away from a blowout game

Somebody was getting fucked

Eight would be a perfect number. Add FSU, Ohio St, Georgia and Liberty.

That's right, Liberty, the best team from a non-power conference deserves and invite every year. Need to spread the wealth just a little

Why? To see Bama up 31-3 at half! No need for a playoff. FSU being a 12 point underdog to Georgia tell the entire story.
FSU, even with a backup, is much better than Auburn. How did that Auburn game work out for Bama? Was it a 31-3 blowout?

Listen.....selecting Bama to the CFP playoff was nothing more than a beauty pagent. They should change the name of the God damn thing to the "CFP Initational" because it certainly isn't a playoff.

LIke Washington and Oregon?
Love how dumb arguments mean they have no chance. But it doesn't matter
They deserved the right to have the shot.
Bigger dogs than that have won.....MANY TIMES

Yeah you can’t discuss with bitter people

the committee got it right. There isn’t any bias. You can reasonable look at both sides and see why each and probably 2-3 more have a case. the committee had a tough job but anyone that isn’t full of Alabama or sec hate can realize they probably made right one.

To say it is rigged or whatever else is comical and the minute that comes out of anyone’s mouth they lose all credibility

The CFP Invitational......A vulgar display of outright bias.

Again, FSU wasn’t getting in. Even if Georgia had won, Texas jumped them.

FSU was out. Wasn’t a sec bias. People would be hammering Texas right now had Georgia won

but as stated. Some bitter people that can’t see the forest due to the trees

Apples and oranges Pete. Rivalry games are a different animal and if you have ever played in one you would understand that emotions are quite different and sometimes you're laser focused to beat your rival, even with less talent.

By your argument New Mexico St. would kick the crap out of Alabama. Louisville lost to Pitt this year. Louisville had a chance to beat FSU in the championship game but fell a little short.

You don't like Alabama so you're biased. FSU beat LSU opening weekend and it chafes your behind that occured.

The SEC champ deserves to be in. Period. End of story! And the committee backed that up.
