Playing with the Ladies and some NIT

NCAAB: 53-42-1 (-9.8 units)

Well, I've been a great fade thus far in March. I've managed to lose 20 units that I took all season to earn and now I'm running low on my NCAAB reserve. Well, tonight I'm going to try my hand at the woman's tournament. I don't suggest you play these blindly, but if you like what I got, let me know. Good Luck.

All Plays for one unit:

Texas -9
Michigan St -11.5
Stanford -14.5
Vanderbilt -2
Texas Tech -13.5
Baylor -11.5
Virginia +10

To be honest with everybody, I don't cap women's ball ever. My first attempt here. That is why I suggest nobody follow.

fwiw here are my rough lines I calculated for 2nite.

Texas -7
Texas Tech -11
Notre Dame -3.5
Michigan St. -11
Stanford -15
Minnesota -6.5
Kansas St. -2 *before injury* Probably make Vandy a 1 pt fav now

Aware Minny, and the Texas teams are playing virtual home games.

Anybody with any local infomation please share!
There should be good value on these lines if the proper knowledge is gathered.

Awaiting totals at 5dimes.

Hey Fellas, I live in Manhattan, Kansas, and I believe the Lady Cats will lose by double digits tonight without Megan Mahoney. She is possibly the most underrated women's player in the country.

Mahoney holds the K-State record for assists, but most of what she does will not show up in any statistics. She is 6'0" tall and plays forward and even center when needed and gets key rebounds, but she is versatile enough on this team without a true point-guard that she has even brought the ball up the court when needed this season.

Most importantly, she is a CLUTCH player. Two weeks ago K-State got down by 16 to Baylor in the Big XII tourney because all-world Kendra Wecker would not stop shooting (and missing) the ball. Mahoney, who had 12 points in the game, rattled off 8 points to spark the Wildcats on a 13-0 run, and she also had some key rebounds, assists, and steals in that late-game stretch. The Lady Cats likely would have won that game had she not blown her achilles tendon with 3 minutes to go.

Deb Patterson does not maximize her team's talent. This Lady Cats team should have been in the final four for the past 3 years, and they never made it past the sweet 16. They should have blown Bowling Green out by 30, and they won by 10 despite a huge game from guard Laurie Koehn.

I am a Lady Cats fan, and I would love to be wrong, but they will lose by double digits tonight to a good Vanderbilt team. GL

Iguana---thanks for the write-up. I thought the main reason I took Vandy was for that same reason. They have played well in her absense but this Vandy team is healthy and should win this game, by at least the 3 points needed. I saw how they only won by 10 and saw how Vanderbilt destroyed their competition. They line is jumping, now up to 5. I would add more after reading your statements, but don't want to lay the juice. Plus I'm climbing out of a six foot hole. Good Luck!

Texas line is also moving. Now dropped two points to 7. How would a middle work in this situation?

Choose or Lose,

If you got Vandy at -2, you're a happy man! The game played out as expected except for the late run by the Lady Cats! I was pulling for them as a fan, but I pretty much knew coach Patterson would blow it in the end.....and she did. That team has the talent to be in the Final 4, but she won't switch defenses, set picks, or run an offense that allows offensive rebounds, and she mismanages close games at the end. Good luck in the rest of the tourney.

Iguana, thanks for the insight. I'll have to remember that bit about the coaching. Vandy may be a good fade in the next round. We'll see.

Well, for my first night of posting WNCAA I would say I did alright. Overall went 3-4 (-1.2 units) with the Ladies and 3-5 (-2.25 units) including the NIT action. These numbers suck honestly, and leave me with a lot of room for improvement. Be back with some plays today.
