my dad goes 3 times a year and stays at the riviera...not very prestigious by any means, but when i went, it was perfectly fine. don't believe it's all that expensive either. however, i don't know much about the surroundings because i was only 16 when i went, so i didn't know all that much about the big picture

I was there for 4 days / 3 nights and spent most of the time either walking the strip (in winter) or visiting nearby stuff - Dam, Canyon... If you're not a table game player / recreational gambler I think a few days is enough. I went on to Anaheim afterwards.

If you are a rec gambler, you'll probably find more to enjoy.

In vegas itself, the Cirque de Soleil at Treasure Island was good and worth seeing.

I have found myself a nice little haven when I go to Vegas. I usually take 3 or 4 days off from work in the summer and do a solo trip to Vegas. The drive from Anaheim to Vegas is very peaceful when commuting by yourself. I like to stay at The Orleans. It is located off the strip and it is a pretty decent hotel and casino as far as prices for drinks, low min tables and good eats and buffet. I also like how The Orleans has a movie theatre in the hotel so I can catch up on some movies I missed.

It seems like whenever I go to Vegas with friends or a girlfriend I never get to fully enjoy myself because everybody has there own agenda so you have to comprimise when it comes to activities.

I really enjoy the free Sirens show at Treasure Island. Especially whilst drunk.
