Well after looking at the charts today for all the contenders, here is what i come up with for my early picks for the derby

1st-----musket man
2nd-----freisan fire
3rd-----i want revenge
4th-----general quarters



i would like to hear from everybody on their thoughts

I Want Revenge

Chocolate Candy

Regal Ransom, Papa Clem (a tie with me)

I feel it will be musket and nile 1 2 or reverse to the wire with papa and friesen close by in pursuit.

I think people are not giving Chocolate Candy enough love. Too much love for I Want Revenge.

From what I read I'm hearing good things about Chocolate Candy. I'm convinced at 20-1 he's the best value on the board.

From an article yesterday;

Pioneerof The Nile, I Want Revenge, Flying Private and Chocolate Candy all worked within a few minutes of each other on a brisk but clear morning over a fast track.

The last of the bunch to run, Santa Anita Derby runner-up Chocolate Candy, was the one who caught the most eyes. The son of Candy Ride worked a mile in 1:42 and had jockey Mike Smith beaming.

"He didn't turn a hair and did everything I asked," Smith said. "I'm as happy as I can be. If he had gone a mile in 1:42 and was gasping and not coming back like I liked, then I'd be a little worried. He handled it great."

Yes. I already have bet him to win and will probably play him to show as well come derby day. I believe this horse is in the same class as the main 5 contenders.

Grabbed 8-1 on Freisan Fire. Long layoff has spooked off many but this horse appears to be the real deal. Just worked five furlongs in 57.80 this morning.

love that Q Road is gone at least in terms of better value on that future...

I bet I want Revenge a month ago at 13-1. I haven't seen anything to change my mind. I would take Pioneer of the Nile 2nd. Papa clem 3rd. If you haven't watched the Wood, go watch a powerful performance by I want Revenge. good luck.
