My Approach to Handicapping Football:
The first month:

I especially look forward to the first four-five weeks of both sports. The lines are soft and value can be found if you look hard enough each week. I am already starting to look at the upcoming football seasons to ensure that I am caught up on all transactions, news and information. The lines are soft early on in college football because it is difficult to gauge how a team will come out and play with a different make-up (with players going to the NFL, different coaches etc). In the NFL it is difficult to gauge how a team will perform due to trades, injuries and for the simple fact it is a brand new season. The linesmakers do work these adjustments into their lines, but in the first month their lines are strongly based off public perception and where the general public (who don't examine the games as thoroughly) will bet; therefore leaving many soft lines, great value and plays that win much more often than not. In the first four to five weeks of the College Football season, simply betting on teams with 16 or more returning starters, or fading teams with 10 or less returning starters, will both win more often than it will lose. I will not be betting all these teams, however, as I will be narrowing the list down to the best five CFB games per week. This is not to say however, that I won't have wagers on teams with less than 16 returning starters in the first month, because I will ... but these teams will be the first I look at.

I have every team in the NCAA broken down (as far as returning starters).
If you'd like my list for free just e-mail me at: pittviper22@gmail.com

After the 5th week I will be putting more emphasis on statistics and how the teams are performing to date, but the first month of football must be analyzed, studied and perceived differently than the remainder of the season .. the playoffs and bowl games must once again be perceived different than the regular season. I feel strongly about fundamental handicapping methods (as long as the situation is right) and later in the season is when I look for good letdown situations, look-ahead situations, good sandwich/middle situations as well as off-lines. Just never chase, always study and football has lots of money to be made.

PittViperSports.com - NFL+CFB Handicapping Contest:
In fact, I will be offering a contest for everybody to participate in. Try and match-up against myself and all other participants with 600$ USD in Cash Prizes to be won, out of my own pocket. I will award 300$ USD to 1st Place, 200$ USD to 2nd Place and 100$ USD to 3rd Place .. with entry being 100% FREE. You do not need to purchase my selections to enter the contest, it will be offered to everybody who wishes to enter. If I "PittViper" finish in the Top 3, the prize money will go towards a NFL Playoff Contest. I will be looking to add more prizes in the weeks leading up to the football seasons, and will be asking my recommended sportsbooks to sponsor some prizes. If anybody would like to offer additional prizes, you can contact me at pittviper22@gmail.com. For more details and information, or to sign-up for the contest please visit:
