Pittsburgh vs Atlanta on 12/04 by Craig_Brown

We know the Falcons can’t pass but they certainly do love to run. However, against an increasingly stout Pittsburgh defense, that will be difficult to do as the Steelers now boast the No. 6 run-stop unit in the league, surrendering just 104 yards per contest.

Another important factor to consider is that the Falcons’ defense is becoming increasingly defenseless against the run and the pass, ranking 21st and 28th in those categories, respectively. Pittsburgh’s rookie quarterback, Kenny Pickett, has done a much better job recently of protecting the ball and finding his targets as he becomes acclimated to his offense.

Atlanta may have the home-field advantage in this one but the Steelers are getting better every week after a rough start. As far as trends are concerned, Pittsburgh is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following an ATS loss and 4-1 against the number versus a team with a losing record. We should also bear in mind the Falcons are 1-5 ATS over their last six contests.
