Pittsburgh at NOTRE DAME (-4½; 48½)—Pittsburgh starting QB Bill Stull
is likely to give way to 6-3 soph backup Pat Bostick. Stull suffered a
concussion in last week’s 54-34 loss vs. Rutgers, was removed from the field
on a stretcher, and spent Saturday night in the hospital. Although Bostick (6
of 11 in 2008) has played in only two games TY, he started the Panthers’ last
eight games in 2007, including Pitt’s stunning 13-9 upset at West Virginia as
a four-TD underdog. The Panthers are also shuffling their OL this week, with
sr. starting LG C.J. Davis moving to center to take over for jr. starting C Robb
Houser, lost for the season last week with a fractured ankle. Sr. and former
starter Dom Williams takes over at LG.
