On a couple of threads there have been claims from some posters that they've had their limits cut at these books for nothing more than being too sharp. There has also been a certain amount of disbelief expressed, since these books claim publicly to not reduce limits for sharps and to welcome all action.

On SBR the following is stated:

Olympic:

<TABLE class=mainbox cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=10 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=right>Limit collars:</TD><TD colSpan=2>No - Olympic welcomes professional action. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Pinnacle:

They accept all players, professionals included. The emphasis is in managing the book, not the players.
<TABLE class=mainbox cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=10 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=right>Limit collars:</TD><TD bgColor=#ffffff colSpan=7>No - All action welcomed</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
CRIS:

This is where professional players play. In a day where successful players find that their limits are cut for winning too much, players can win without limit at CRIS and get paid with a smile into the millions of dollars.
<TABLE class=mainbox cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=10 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD align=right>Limit collars:</TD><TD bgColor=#ffffff colSpan=3>No - All action welcomed</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I believe the posting community on the Rx deserves to know the truth -- do they or do they not cut limits just because a player is too sharp?

Mods: Could you please put these questions to these books so we can get to the bottom of this issue once and for all?

1. Have you ever limited any player just because he's too sharp?

2. If not, have you ever limited a player for any reason?

3. If so, what is the main reason you limited these players?

I don't think this is too much to ask and having official responses to these statements would surely clear up a lot of confusion in my mind, and probably a lot of other posters' minds as well.

Personally I'm betting the answers are no, yes, and "because we suspected they formed partnerships to circumvent our limits".

I would really like to be proven either right or wrong if for no other reason than to know where we stand, get the books to be more honest, or get some posters to stop talking chit.

Thanks very much.

I would believe it. I know another top book that says they take professional action but cut the limits of someone I know.

Pinnacle offers different limits online to different players, the limit differences are not significant, but they do exist with some players being able to bet at least up to 25% more than pinnalles "normal" limits.

Really? How would they do that.....by circling it for some and not others? I wouldn't expect this from pinnacle. Do you have proof of this?

New accounts are generally started at higher limits, I don't know what criteria Pinnacle uses to choose what accounts continue to get higher limits while other decrease.

As for proof I can look at my account and look at a friends account in real time and see the different.

Thanks General, appreciate the help as always...

It's true that different players can have different limits at Pinnacle...I used to have 2 accounts there and one day I just noticed the limit increase on one of them but not the other.

Big difference between raising limits and lowering them, though, especially when they come flat out and say they don't do that.

Yeah, doesn't bother me at all the Pin does it, most people end up with the same limits in the end, I just assume that Pin is trying to get a little more out of their recreational bettors, but I could be way off.

Usually when they raise your limits, they are raised by the square root of 2...

Some of the highest betters on the world are square players. Donald Trump bet 1million dollars on the Super Bowl one year. I dont think he line shops and watches the Don Best screen all day.

Darryl:

First let me state that there is no doubt The General will try his best to seek out the answer to your questions. But, please keep this in mind. Olympic, Pinnacle and Cris may be forthcoming with honest answers or they may only provide their standard response to these questions. Anyone who has bet into these shops for their limits and continuously beat them at not only traditional sports but other betting options know they have had first, their limits cut, then asked to phone in their plays, and then, at times, asked politely to take their business elsewhere. Not being critical of the books, as this is a wise business decision. Simply want to state that it will be interesting to see if a response is obtained and how truthful the books may be in this matter. Whatever answer is provided should be viewed carefully, realizing what is at stake for the books.

Hey OMT, good to see ya. Where do you bet at? Is there any place that will take your bets? You're the best, ever.

Anywhere that will still take my action provided they are secure.

Illini:

This is an important thread so let's not turn it into something else. But to answer, your question, I was on Arizona, but was impressed with the Illini comeback. Think Illinois has an excellent chance this coming weekend. Best of luck to them.

I was fortunate enough to speak with Spiro directly on this matter and he said without doubt and absolutely he will reduce limits on players who play obscure sports, strange props, or even women’s hoops. It is not a matter of reducing limits because he is afraid of the bettor, but because he doesn’t feel as good or have as much confidence in the numbers for these type events/wagers. It only makes good business sense that when you are not comfortable with a particular sport or lack confidence in the numbers then you have to take measures that protect the house.

Hope that helps.

Once again the General comes THROUGH :fballch3:

And Oly proves again they are numero uno in the integrity department giving a STRAIGHT answer that matches our observed experience. It's also good to know that there is no reason to doubt the recent posts made regarding experiences at Oly.

Now all players can be confident that they will not get the boot if they follow the rules and stick to the main sports. They can have an IQ of 250 and an annual betting income of $250K and Oly will still take their action. Very important information indeed. THANK YOU!

I hope Pinnacle and CRIS are equally forthright in their response.

Ok, then what is your guess? For the record I checked on NBA limits this morning and the newer account of friend had just over 17% higher betting limits then my account.
