~Philly~ I feel that they are being extremely undervalued.

One simple answer.
Washington converted 12 of 21 third downs against what had been a dominant defense all season. The Commanders ran 81 plays and held the ball for 40:24 of the 60 minutes. Philadelphia turned the ball over four times, one more than its total from the first eight games.
They still pulled up to a 21-23 score early in the 4th - but aWash FG and a fumble at their own 1 yd line in the end zone gave Washington the last TD.
Got outgained by quite a bit though, and Washington turned the ball over themselves a couple times. I don't think the Washington games matter for either team, by the way. I'm just pointing the hole in your logic

I think if we are comparing performances, then why not address their defense giving up 40 to Cowboys near the end of the year? Seems a lot more relevant given when it happened

Could go down the rabbit hole.

Entering divisional weekend, the line for this game probably would have been around a Pick Em. Now it's 2.5. I think 49ers getting value after overreaction to Divisional results

Obviously no one knows what will happen on Sunday, but my guess is 49ers win. They have more edges IMO and I think they can control the clock in this game

The best pass defense always matters. I wonder if you would feel that way if Cincy had that?

GL on the ML.
Obviously a great pass defense matters to some level. But it won't be as meaningful in this match-up. 49ers aren't going to be trying to hit Aiyuk, Jennings, etc on an island against their CB's. They are going to try to attack first two levels of the defense, where they do have advantages

Seems like your back-pedaling a bit with by-passing the eagles DB's now and focusing on the short game for SF.
Bottom line may be that a Rookie who was handled because the Cowboys showed how to keep SF to 19 pts in their own home park, will suddenly be able to play offensive short game against Philly?
McCafferty IS their short game. he is all they have to cover.
So maybe you believe they can be productive in the short game, but if they're reduced to a single deminsion team, - which is what the Pass defense does for Philly, this game - to could be one-sided with McCafftery being minimized, like he was last week vs Dallas.

huh? Back pedaling?

I never said 49ers were going to try to sling the ball around with Purdy. That’s kinda the point

Implying McCaffery is the whole Niners offense is pretty laughable though.

I think what Gman means is that with phillys DBs shutting down the pass….. front 7 will stack the box to stop 9ers backs. Isn’t that becoming one dimensional?just my .02.

That is more logical, though definitely not what GMan was saying if I’m reading him correctly. He said Niners have one dude to stop, which isn’t true lol just dumb

Who are they gonna stack box with?

Purdy has only played 2 road games vs 6 home games last 8 games Seattle and the Vegas raiders..some guy named Stidham in his 1st NFL start in years put 31 on that SF defense. If we all remember correctly, when Purdy played for Iowa St. He was great @ home, but not so great on the road. Philly isnt Seattle or the Vegas Raiders. Philly to the bank

If this doesn't convince many and the reason to play Philly then - So be it.
The SF wins count, but those were all soft wins and ALL HOME games for SF
against teams with
• Wash - was a last place team and a negative scoring team with next to 3rd lowest offensive points @ 19pts per game.. League lowest was 17 by several teams.
• Miami had 4 huge turnovers IN SF. They were still close in total yardage. -42.
• Tampa was the ,lowest scoring team in the playoffs of ALL the teams @18pts per game!. They count, but have little to compete with.

• Last point that may be important.
9er's are 3-4 ATS in road games and 0-1 SU against Division winners. Thats what Philly is - a division winner.
Oh - and KC was a HOME game
for SF.
SF played only 2 true road gams in their last 11 .
In addition, they played 7 road games against 6 losing teams. Seattle was the only road game against a winning team.
Yeah well ughhh ummm ughhh the eagles beat the Giants three times. Who beat the redskins twice. And the Giants went 4-0 vs AFC south and we all know the colts titans jags Texans weren’t that good.

The Giants beat Atlanta Carolina Chicago And the afc south and 2-0 vs Washington so that’s like 9 wins vs horrible teams and 0-5 vs eagles and cowboys. So the Eagles really didn’t beat anyone either 4-0 vs afc south and 3-0 vs Giants plus wins Over bears saints cards. 10 wins came against crap teams.

Niners beat the Seahawks 3 times. Seahawks beat the Giants. And the Giants beat the redskins and the Niners beat the redskins while the redskins beat the eagles. Therefore the Niners have beat the better teams.

Niners 3-4?ats on road
0-1 su vs division winners lost kc
But beat Tampa su 1-1 vs division winners but doesn’t count
Wow that information seals the deal eagles it is!
Eagles by 7+ easy but let’s lay -140 ml though

Eagles 28ppg
Niners 26ppg
Eagles 19ppg
Niners 16ppg
Eagles +8 turnovers
Niners +13 turnovers
Eagles rush yards pg 150
Niners rush yard pg 140
Eagles rush D yard pg 120
Niners rush D yard pg 80

All in all no matter who played who or what team went through 3QB’s trotting out a 7-0 rookie who was literally last pick in draft. Each team has had good to pour quality opponents. Each team stats wise matches up super close in many categories. Each team has won a bunch and lost a couple. Week 3 sheds no light on week 15. End of the day position group by position group these teams are well matched and very good teams. Probably small advantages eagles at home rowdy crowd. Both run well both play solid D. Should be a good game either way.

I think I’ve seen some of the dumbest reasoning in a long time on here with what I’ve just read. That’s some horrible angles imo nit picking to support a side by running all around with with changing degrees of support.

So stomping TB, whipping Wash and Miami.........those don't count?
Nope don’t count! The wind was blowing in from the west vs TB. And TB is an East to west wind team. Washington wore new logo and that logo is different than the racist one which was 12-7 all time in SF. Miami had to play with 4 turnovers and on the west coast for second week in a row. so they had too much time in California weather which we all know works against you if the longitude and latitude correlate for two weeks or more. Huge advantages for SF

Plus the Niners scored more points and gave up way less vs these teams and that’s a big advantage the other teams didn’t have

Wondered about his days in college 30-11 He grew up a Miami Dolphins fan, and wears number 13 in honor of Dan Marino
He is 7-0 as starter with SF

Teams played last year imagine lots of new faces?

9/19/21 ( 11-17) SF wins in Philly

+3+125 Eagles vs. 49ers -149 -3 o 49

This year Philly favorites in all but 1 game

AGAINST THE SPREAD 9-9-0
OVER/UNDER 10-8-0

Niners favorites in all but 2 games

AGAINST THE SPREAD 13-6-0
OVER/UNDER 10-9-0

Thanks for the correction on Tampa being a division winner. I overlooked that. SF is 1-1.
Thanks for the feedback.

Hurts looks like the 2nd coming of Randal Cunningham who is one of only two great black QB IMO. The best of all, was Warren Moon.
Purdy has a 7-0 record as you say, but Im not sure he is anything that came late in the draft, like Tom Brady.

Before the Wild Card game vs Seattle all I heard was its the rookie Purdy in his first playoff game. WIN

Before the Divisional game all I heard was Dallas is the best D the rookie Purdy has seen since he became the starter. WIN

Now for the championship game its he's playing on the road with a loud crowd against one of the best D's in the league. If SF wins this game.....

This is the first SB the rookie Purdy will play in and he has no chance against Burrow or Mahomes. Lol

I just laugh at all this gibberish.

BTW San Francisco is 8-0 with a 3rd string ROOKIE QB. Phi was 1-2 with a veteran 2nd string QB. Who has the best "Team" again? Just checkin.

Purdy has double the amount of playoff wins as Hurts

Looks like books might have an advantage on these two games only because action splits they win juice
