Seems like you have a thing for Mustain. OK.

But just FYI, Mustain didn't even make the backup slot in QB competition this past spring. Matt Barkley did. Both Barkley and Corp played nearly flawless ball. Mustain was sort of a flop by comparison and he sits in the 3rd spot. It's going to take one mutha of a turnaround for Mustain to beat out either of those 2 at QB U.

And as far as the Trojans not even making it into a NC game since '05... see Oregon St. -- oh I see you already have. (muahahahah)

Wow. I just went to the Aaron Corp site and they are already selling Rose Bowl tickets! Maybe just a bit early for that, even for the Trojans. Ya think?

Seems pretty confident though... for a guy that hasn't taken a snap. I'm just wondering if they give out refunds in case of the "remote" possibility that he doesn't win or at least play in the the Rose Bowl (NC game this year.) Not that I think it's out of the realm of possibility that they Trojans make it in, but it is definitely definitely a wait and see how things go deal.

"Tickets, tickets, everyone get your Rose Bowl tickets!!"
Just tell them Aaron Corp sent you.

Eh, it's not like Arkansas won games because they had Mustain. That team was loaded on both sides of the field with Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Damian Williams, Marcus Monk, Jamaal Anderson, Chris Houston, and other notable players. He put up pedestrian numbers while starting (69/132 52.3% 10 TD 9 INT).

Sometimes you just have to give coaching staffs the benefit of the doubt when it comes to evaluating talent. Take H.S. teams for example. I bet all (or most) the varsity athletes who end up getting offers to play D-1 ball are those who are placed on their varsity teams as sophomores, and 99% of the "other kids" are nobody's. I trust that Carroll and Co. will start the QB who is playing the best in practice. After all, their jobs depend on it.

I was in my car listening to ESPN radio and the guy was talking about PC.
It seems that USC was putting 57,000 fans in the home stadium and PC has kept it at 90,000 the last few years. An increase of 33,000. No matter what your opinion of PC or many of the other HC's around who put fans in the stands, they do bring something to the table other than just coaching talents. Their salaries reflect more than just their coaching abilities and in these times their salaries do indeed seem out of proportion. However, it is hard to question or criticize guys like PC, Urban Meyers, or Bob Stoops as long as their programs continue to contribute to the general funds of their respective universities. Their impact is huge and in some cases they fall under scrutiny for all kinds of things, even things that they are not directly responsible for. I would think that PC is feeling some added pressure losing a QB he obviously did not want to leave and losing some coaches who not only are leaving but staying in the Pac 10 to coach and recruit against him. For some reason Meyers has seemed a little edgy lately and the pressures may be mounting as some people are even "expecting" not only a repeat but a mere walk in the park. Stoops managed to keep some players who could have signed some big contracts in the last NFL draft so there is some pressure to win a big game, a bowl game, and do it with a new OL and WR's. By the same token the pressure is off of some coaches, like Mack Brown, who has the best possible schedule he could hope for although not an easy route one that is not littered with speed bumps (quality OOC competition). When you are constantly in the public eye you can either walk on egg shells or be yourself. No matter what you call or label any of these guys they walk the walk, you have to admire them for that.

That's just not true. he's won TWO Official National Championships. And came within a whisker of winning 3 in a row. I know why you say only one, because one was not a "BCS" title, it was an AP title, but that still counts and always has a an official National Championship.

I wonder about whether he is overrated all the time, so I hear you on this one. But I tend to think he is not just a good coach, but a GREAT coach. First off, he's the one bringing in that talent. And he does a couple of titles, in a relatively short span. I'm sure people thought Dean Smith was overrated before he finally broke through as well. Just my opnion....
