How come when the cards got the personal on pitt during the field goal pitt got the ball back yet when pitt got a personal foul on the punt against the cards, the penality was enforced after and gave pitt the ball?

bc possesion had changed on the punt when the personal foul happened, where as on the fg attempt the ball didnt change hands

Because the ball had already left the foot of the Cardinal punter when the foul occurred, thus possession had already changed.

Yea but since it happened during the play i think it should come back. What said makes sense though. I just think they should atleast of reviewed that last fumble. I mean thats the game right there for a superbowl and you dont even review it when cleary his arm was going forward

Yea but when you get a roughing the punter, the ball has already left his foot and they come back.

That's because the NFL is trying to protect the punter since he's the most 'vulnerable' on the play. Any other penalty committed by the receiving team after the ball has been punted is assessed post-possession. You can have a defensive holding penalty on the receiving team's DL as they're rushing the punter (which would give the punting team an automatic 1st down), but that's rarely seen.

horribly called game....arm was definitly going forward when the ball left his hand...the roughing the passer on ben was biggest BS call...the first safety...luckily they still got the safety...and on the roughing the passer play ben was about to be sacked and the lineman tackled the guy about to sack ben from behind and it wasnt called, then they call roughing the passer...even though it was a great game and the steelers made the plays to win...its to bad the refs played a big part in it also...it just caps off a bad year for the NFL in their officiating department...i personally have never seen so many blown calls in one year!! and thats what ill remember going into next year...i also had arizona and the over so im not bitching cause i lost my bet...thats just truth!!

It's funny, but I seem to remember the Pitt/Seattle SB being one of the worst officiated games ever, now seems ppl are complaining again....and it's the Steelers again.

ball was jarred loose as he was "about" to go forward, it was a fumble...but i sat there in shock that they didn't at least review it. it wasn't a horribly called game at all, cards played with no discipline. they've been making those light calls on roughing the passer all year. he didn't push him hard, but the play was over and he pushed him on the ground...it is what it is i guess.

im not really complaining just giving my opinion, to me there were a few questionable calls for pittsburgh. i think you have that in every nfl game and probably more times than not it doesnt effect the outcome of the game, this one included.

Penalties Pitt 6 Arizona 13 Just like SB 2 years ago-Why do they fukin love the Steelers. When was the last time you saw a running into the hoplder penalty? And he tripped or was pushed anyways complete bull shit-kudos to the cards d for still holding them to a FG.Roughing the passer BS. 3 personal fouls on 1 drive BS. Dude not kicked out of the game BS. Still 2 many mistakes gave that game to pitt-great last drive-but had 3 fukin guys on Holmes in the end zone how can you not make that play. Cromartie did not have a good game. Cards 400 yards passing-tore up the mighty Pitt D. Loved it.

Kid, How the fuck do you expect him to react when the guy spears him with his helmet right in the mid section?

Only bad call the whole game was the roughing the passer penalty. All the other personal foul penalties that were called were all legit.

Now to all the other crybabies in this thread. For gods sake how many more people are going to fucking cry about the refs. What do you say to the holding penalty that backed Pittsburgh back to the 12 yard line on the final drive. If you cant stop a team from going 88 fucking yards with the Super Bowl on the line then you cant cry about the refs in this game.

great game, hate to see the cards lose, after the beautful 67 yard play bit fitzgerald to put zona up late, was absolutely beautful but pitt made the drive to win,

all in all you can scratch all the officiating bull shit, the only call that reall matters was that they didnt at least review the last play of the game and make sure it was a fumble cuz if zona gets ball back a jump ball to fitzgerald is at least a 25% chance of a TD, but was an incredible game and we shouldnt bring it down because of the refs, both teams did what tey needed to do to win and the incredible plays were made just pitt had the last chance, i feel that if zona had the last chance with any time they probably would have been the team to win

is fitzgerald a freak or is he a freak.... damn what a stud it was a beautiful(i know i said this several times) but a beautiful site to see him bust that td down the middle to take the lead he looked like a fucking god

What?????????????? Boy KIDDIE you better go back and reread what I typed.

Watch the whole damn play. Harrison gave the first shot but watch the Cardinals player who is on his knees. Watch closely and see how he rams his head into Harrisons thigh and thus Harrisons reaction to the final blow. I am not saying that Harrison didnt deserve the penalty at all, just that his reaction wasnt as bad as you makes it out to be. Not sure about you, but most guys in that situation would probably respond the way Harrison did.

I did very well on that game, thank you so trust me I have no need to be crying. I responded to everyone crying about the refs in that game by stating that none of the other crybabies in this thread seem to point out how the refs gave Arizona 2 points and how they put Pittsburgh in a deep hole to start that final drive with the holding calls. How about the miss call (which didnt matter) on Larry Fitz running down the sidelines out of bounds before attempting to tackle Harrison on the int. return. How about the reversal of the TD on Pittsubrgh first drive. Show me a replay where the qbs knee was down on the ground before the ball crossed the plain of the goal line. All in all the refs STUNK in this game just like they did throughout the whole season.

Also, I stated that Arizona has no reason to blame the refs when they couldnt stop Pittsburgh from going 88 yards on that last drive with the Super Bowl on the line. All the people who didnt want Pittsburgh to win the Super Bowl for the 6th time are looking for any reason they can find to badmouth The Steelers.
