The premiere episode of the highly anticipated new series The People v. OJ Simpson opened with the grisly death of the former football great's ex-wife - and the evidence used against him when he went on trial for her murder.
'She's practically decapitated,' notes prosecutor Marcia Clark (played by Sarah Paulson) as she looks at crime scene photos of Nicole Brown Simpson, who was killed alongside her friend Ronald Goldman.
The show then carefully lays out all the evidence that made Simpson a suspect in the murder, beginning with traces of blood found on the outside and inside of his white Ford Bronco and a trail of blood leading into his home.
There were also bloody footprints at the scene of the crime outside Nicole's Brentwood condo and that infamous black glove - one at the murder scene and one on Simpson's own property.
Clark also in once scene reveals that 911 had been called eight times by Nicole before her death, and that she had been found with a bruised face on one occasion and a bleeding lip on another.
In one incident she claimed Simpson had attacked her windshield with a baseball bat.
'The system failed her,' says Clark.
'He got away with beating her, he’s not going to get away with killing her.'

The show opens with Simpson (played by Cuba Gooding Jr.) heading off to Chicago, showing up late for his ride to the airport.
It is shortly after he lands that he receives notice that Nicole has been murdered, setting off alarms among police when he does not ask the manner in which she was killed.
Authorities at that time, including Mark Fuhrman (played by Steven Pasquale), were at his home at the time in order to notify him of his ex-wife's death, learning from Kato Kaelin (played by Billy Magnussen) that he was out of town.
Police were able to gather enough evidence before he returned for Clark to say they had enough to arrest him, but in the end he was only questioned by authorities.
Upon his return Simpson is immediately greeted by his lawyer and close friend Robert Kardashian (played by David Schwimmer) as the media waits for him outside his home.
It is one reporter who manages to capture Simpson in his backyard with police who breaks the news that he is a suspect in his ex-wife's murder.

Soon after Simpson goes after Robert Shapiro (played by John Travolta) to rep him, who we met as he hobnobs inside a Beverly Hills restaurant trying to get the attention of then Creative Artists Agency chairman Mike Ovitz.
It is Shapiro who then urges Kardashian to join Simpson's legal team.
The first question Shapiro asks Simpson when he is hired is whether or not he killed his wife.
'No,' says Simpson.
'I loved her.'
Despite his claim Simpson - who was ultimately acquitted of both murders - fails a polygraph test administered at Shapiro's suggestion, sending him into a downward spiral.
He then shows up to his wife's funeral, much to the disgust of Nicole's sister Denise (played by Jordana Brewster) and her close friends Kris Jenner (played by Selma Blair) and Faye Resnick (played by Connie Britton).
The two ladies operate as a sort of Greek chorus in the episode, detailing the alleged horrors suffered by Nicole while also pointing out what a wonderful person she was during her life.
'She was my personal angel. I wouldn't have gone to rehab if it wasn't for her,' says Resnick, who famously battled a cocaine addiction.
They are also unable to control their judgment and disgust as Simpson is seen walking right up to his wife's casket and kissing her during the funeral as some in attendance wonder why he would take his lawyer, Shapiro, to his wife's service.
Simpson pleaded no contest to spousal abuse against Nicole in 1989, three eyars before they were divorced.

After the funeral Simpson camps out at Kardashian's home until DNA results come in and police issue a warrant for his arrest.
Clark is also seen talking to two eyewitnesses - a woman who claims she saw Simpson driving shortly after Nicole and Goldman were believed to have been killed and the driver who took him to the airport that evening.
The first eyewitness, Jill Shively, recalls seeing him around 10:45pm near Nicole's home driving erratically and honking his horn at her after almost causing an accident.
His airport driver meanwhile provided what might have seemed to be the most damning report to Clark, saying he saw Simpson run into his home around 11pm and then back out to get in the car to head to airport en route to Chicago.
He also said he saw the Bronco parked outside when he drove off, and that it had not been there when he arrived at the home.
Based on this, Clark felt the timeline matched up to consider him the only real suspect in the case.

The smiley face he drew inside his name confused and shocked many at the time

Before he is set to turn himself in though he writes a will and a suicide note then takes a gun and goes to kill himself in the childhood bedroom of Kim Kardashian.
'This is where my daughter sleeps,' says Kardashian.
'Don’t kill yourself in Kimmy’s bedroom.'
Shortly after, as police arrive to take Simpson in, he is nowhere to be found, and the episode ends with a white Ford Bronco speeding down the highway - only this one belongs to Simpson's close friend A.C. Cowlings (played by Malcolm-Jamal Warner).
After learning what has happened Clark says; 'Oh my God. We're going to look like morons.'
Johnnie Cochran (played by Courtney B. Vance) also appeared in the premiere, but had not at that point signed on with Simpson. He in fact is seen in one scene saying he would not represent the football star because it is a losing case.
In another scene he tells his wife he cannot wear a lime-green suit because he is going to visit Michael Jackson at Neverland that day, who he says has a phobia of that particular color.
'Lime green. That would be exceptional,” says Cochran.
'Except that I’ve got to run out to Neverland. Michael’s got some new pile of commotion. So I can’t wear lime. Michael’s afraid of that color. I’ve never met someone with so many phobias.'
This would have been a month after Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley and a year after allegations of child sexual abuse first arose against the singer.
Clark meanwhile is depicted as going through her own personal struggles during the trail due to her ongoing divorce from her second husband Gordon, with whom she has two children.

Anyone watch this? Is it worth the time?

I watched it. It was ok.....

Is it worth the time? On a Tuesday night at 10.....I guess it is but depends on your interest. I found it somewhat interesting. It still is the biggest travesty in history I think. OJ should have been put to death by now for those murders.

OJ probably watched it in his cell room. Other than that I can’t imagine anyone gives a shit.

Unless of course you’re a millionaire and have nothing better to do.

It came on at 10pm......Dumbfuck Dave took his Tuesday pills hours before and was in his deep dark dungeon sleeping by himself by that time......he didn't see it.......and if he did.....his opinion would be just as meaningless as it is regarding everything else.
