okay someone please tell me why this line is so big...

Last meeting: 01/06/09 PENST 67 - PURD 64

key injuries:

<table class="data" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="1"><tbody><tr><td class="datacell">Robbie Hummel </td> <td class="datacell">F</td> <td class="datacell"> Ques Sun - Back - 2/4/09
</td></tr></tbody></table>
If hummel doesnt play, this seems like Penn st +10.5 is CLEARLY the play.

lets hear what you guys think.

I agree that Penn St is definitely the play is Robbie Hummel is out. I think even if he is back, it still is the play because this injury sounds like it will continue to linger and Purdue is not the same team without this guy.

Also I think the under 127.5 is a very strong play in this game. Purdue has gone over 63 points just one time in its last eight games, and is averaging just 56 in the two games w/o Hummel (minus the OT period against Ohio St.)

Also Penn St is averaging just 55.8 a game over their last six and these two teams scored 48 and 44 respectively in their last games. I expect the final score to be somewhere around 58-52, and the only way this one goes over is if it goes to OT. There is always that risk though.

Please do not make the mistake and take the lions!!!

We all watched the lions against the badgers.....the psu guards were shut down by more aggressive guards....jackson and moore should shut down battles and pringle....we all know battles is overrated..bad shot after bad shot....if hummel doesnt play, who cares....home court...PURDUE WINS BY 18....

Two solid bets are Purdue-10.5 and the under

fade northwestern and psu the rest of the season....hell take the under in every game because these two teams cant score when the three ball isnt in there favor....

i do not see hummel playing at all...

he has a fracture in his back...and painter does not want to risk any further damage to this kid's career...

remember michigan was playing right with purdue until harris got ejected...

i think this is way too generous a number, the boilers depth is an issue without hummel...and if penn state can control johnson...they could have a great shot at winning this game S/U. purdue looked awful sunday against a struggling illini team...i do not see a blowout here.

Purdue looked awful against the Illini on Sunday. Granted, Penn State looked awful against Wisconsin on Sunday as well. Still think Penn State is the play though.

im warning you guys, the lions are not playing good basketball, they may lose the rest of there big ten games.....just look back at last season .... a couple surprise wins but the general fact is the nittany lions are a terrible team...if you watch big ten basketball..you know penn states squad is not much different from last year with the key loss of geary claxton...taylor battles has not grown up....
In the last three games...its become evident that penn state is beginning to struggle hitting the three point shot...Penn States bench is very weak with andrew ott and danny morrisey..both players should be playing on the brach campus team in altoona, pa.... .. Penn States very very lucky to have the record they have....

Ive grown up in state college....i know my shit...fade the fuck out of the lions!

I definitely agree on the under but how can you say whether or not Hummel plays is a non-factor? The guy is averaging 13/game and leading the team in rebounds per game. Without Hummel I think that it puts way too pressure on E. Moore and Jackson to do all of the scoring. They are capable of taking on all of the scoring load, and the only way Purdue covers this inflated spread is if Lewis Jackson comes out and has a monster game. I just don't see it happening tomorrow night. Take the points with Penn St.

I'll be honest I have not watched a full Penn St game all season long. They seemed improved considering they went to Mich St and won just 10 days ago, but the more I hear this the more I am thinking about just doubling down on the under 127.5. I don't think there's anyway the teams get to this number tomorrow night.

No, don't do it. Home court is HUGE in the Big Ten. Even without Hummel there's more talent on Purdue than on Penn State. It's a big number but it should be a big number. Penn State is good when they're under the radar, which they aren't right now.

Its just my opinion and I know Purdue is great at home...im just warning everyone!!!! Purdue is the play!

Purdues last two opponents(Ohio State, Illinois) are very talented teams and there home court advantages were evident in both the wins.....Penn State is all about luck this season ....if talor battles misses his first couple of shots....gets a little down...its over....you guys will have to watch CORNLEY shoot threes the rest of the game....and its so painful.....if you bet penn state....just be prepared to throw your remote a few times when jeff brooks airs a 15 ft shot or when cornley misses two free throws or when talor battles breaks away with a 3-1 player advantage and ends up taking the 3 point shot....just be ready to be upset!!!
