Pay-for-Play Tryouts coming soon, some rules and commentary.

Search
Tout (pay for play) picks will be welcome with one URL per day. As soon as Tout forum is operational, we will be eliminating URL's in the regular picks forums, both in posts and on username interfaces.

The tout tryout forum will lead to at least four (maybe six) touts being invited to post their picks in our new pay for play section being developed in conjuction with Covers technology. Shrink and Prescription will also fill six (maybe eight) spots from long time handicappers they know and respect.

The open tryout section of the program will be sponsored by www.betgameday.com.
One thing we want to do is make sure potential pay for picks people only enter once, under one name, and are sincere about picking the 100 games necessary to qualify. Anyone trying out for a spot on the Rx pay-for-play section must postup $100 or more at www.betgameday.com and roll same over 3X to be eligible to participate (be tracked). If you go broke on your first bet that of course qualifies as your 3X also.

I hope we have a lot of people trying out, and I hope other touts not being tracked post there also. Same rules as in sports forums now, no leading statements ("I went 33-2 last week") and one URL per day.

This is a new idea for us, it will be somewhat made up as we go. A miminum of four touts will be selected, the four with the best "+ units" after 100 plays. All plays will be one unit, a -150 play will either win one unit or lose 1.5 units.

Glad to answer questions or take comments. It's my baby, Shrink has given me permission to run with it.

Sounds good, but why would someone have to pay just to tryout??? What are the benefits of being a chosen in the "pay-for-play" area? Just publicity? Explain further.

SEC.

We will be setting up a separate area where people interested in getting a certain pay-for-play handicappers selection can buy them right off of the site.

They would only pay for the pick(s) if they won that night.

The advantage is dollars in the tout's pocket, if people want to buy their plays.

Sounds like a good opportunity for therx, betgameday.com and the 6-8 cappers who post up to enter, win and then go on to sell picks. Not as good for the average rx viewer / poster.

Not bashing your business plan Peep, just my opinion.

SO will the top 6-8 cappers who are chosen, stop posting for free once they can be paid for their picks? I would imagine that they would have to. Then some of the nice guys in here who give out valuable advice for free, will be frowned upon by the other 99.9% who do give it away gratis. Its a good idea, but Noonan does have a good point. Of course, Im already a "tout" who gives away his picks for free

Peep - Wouldn't things be destined to get nasty? What happens when Joe Schmoe buys RX-CAPPERACE#1's pay-4-picks selection and then just posts in the applicable forum for all to see? With service selection threads allowed in all the forums up till now, would that still apply?

If "John Smith" wants to pay $25 for a play, he does so with the otherstanding it is for his use only.

He posts it, he gets cut off.

As to the charging not charging, I think about it the same way I think about whores charging. Might well be that the prettiest girls will continue to give it away free.

Not everyone wants to be a tout, I certainly wouldn't, who needs it.

I think the Bonus Plays section will be stronger for it.

And if someone wants to buy plays, they will have a chance to.

Very good question...ON the one hand there would be a need to protect the integrity of the pay-for-play forum, while at the same time protecting the right for members to post "service plays" in other forums.

Im guessing all service plays will have to be banned from all Rx forums. Im not totally against that (I AM, however, STRONGLY against Alatex's plays being off-limits (CBB Forum) while everyone elses picks are fair game). I do think that banning service plays prevents the freedom for members to post any viable information concerning sports wagering, which is why we are (supposedly) here.

One thing is for sure, a pay-for-play forum will change the Rx as we know it. Lets just hope its for the better

I think it is the responsibility of each tout to control his own buyers, make them aware the picks come with stipulations.

We'll see how it goes. I certainly don't plan to worry about service plays (including ours) from the point of view of a moderator.

Why do we have to pay to qualify? What % will The Rx get from each sale?

What will be the criteria to qualify as a paid tout? Top 4 are automatic?

What do you personally have to gain by this ?

Thank you...Looking forward to this!

So if IDENTITY wins 60% is she automatically in as a RX TOUT? anyone blind squirrel can find a nut or 60 in 100 picks ...

This is NOT A GOOD BAROMETER!

Frankly, I don't think 60-40 even means that much, could be a statistical abboration.

But it is a "way".

Tout tryouts will be ongoing, we will drop guys for low percentages and/or low sales even after they have achieved the mecca of selling picks at the Rx.

But who knows?

Should be interesting.

peep

the rx handles everything but the picks and cut you a check like weekly or monthly.and you dont have to sell anything right.

would you sell big plays and still post reg plays in free forums

when does your deposit have to be in

panther

panther.

The billing/support would take place through Covers support, and is done monthly.

We don't need a check for anything.

If someone wants to be a tout "in the automated system", they just need to open an account at Gameday and try out.

So you have to rollover 3x at first...claim that, and you will verify that from betgameday, and then you are elgible to start posting your plays until you hit 100 total?

Sorry but this smells like bullshit to me. You know that 99% of these tout-wannabes will end up losing in the end. Gameday makes a bundle off these suckers with visions of being the next Jim Feist dancing in their heads and then if one of them does get LUCKY and hits 60% you guys will make money selling their picks, which may or may not turn out to be any good. Touts are SCUM and it's distressing that some people are gonna push this SCUM on us just to make a few bucks. You can't put a price tag on integrity.

Master TX, you just have to open and fund an account at Gameday to be eligible to start picking.

The 3X part is about witdrawing funds from Gameday. BTW, Gameday is offering a 20% bonus for new accounts, so you touts should clean them out hehe.

Banned, no one is "pushing" anything on you. You want to buy a pick, buy a pick. If you don't, don't.

100 games, I wouldn't pay for a phone call to get someone's picks that went 60-40 on 100 games. Statistically insignificant amount of picks. Show me someone hitting 600-400 out of 1000 and will consider. This could be a worthwhile section after someone proves to me over a long period of time they are successful, and I assume this will track that? 3 out of every 100 cappers will win 60% over 100 games. Smart of the RX though the more participants the more likey to get cappers hitting over 60% pn 100 games.

BTW, touts will continue to give away one "free" play.

The tracked plays can be posted (or e-mailed in, if the person already has clients they want to protect).
