Yes, he's a great man and the GOP didn't want to waste him on this ticket. McCain took one for the team, bless him.

Silliness. If Pawlenty had been VP choice and handled himself well, he would have positioned himself. Pawlenty needed the exposure. McCain tried a hail mary and got sacked.

He was determined to serve your state for his fullly-elected term, which is admirable. That should serve him well in the future.

In most political environments I'd have to agree with you, i.e. there's almost no such thing as "bad publicity", but not here.

Believe it or not, the GOP is smart enough to know when they see a Populist and there's one rule in politics that you never want to break... don't be on the losing end to a Populist, it's a career killer.

One of the decent young guys who hopefully will represent the future of the party. Good fiscal conservative but has consistently worked with many democrats in the state to get things done. He has also stood his ground and vetoed tax hikes by the democrats in state legislature. Ultimately they overrode his veto on an addl. gas tax last year. Palin is hopefully going home and staying there. i really like Pawlenty and/or Jindal for 2012.
