New England faced the easiest slate of passers in the league with their opponents compiling an NFL-low 83.1 passer rating in other games.
Against the Patriots, the group actually fared better, 84.4, a difference that ranked 19th in the NFL, according to Stats, LLC.

FINALLY, someone that knows what they are talking about. lol. Let me quote myself.

"Please name 1 top tier quarterback they played against this season. Let me answer that for you..... Maybe 1 or arguably 2. Here are the quarterbacks that they faced this season. Palmer, Tannehill, Osweiler x2, Taylor x2,Whitehurst, Dalton, Jones, Wilson, Kaepernick, Fitzpatrick x2, Goff, Flacco, Siemian, Moore, Roethlisberger. Really?"

Valid points... just don't see why it would discredit Pats/Brady who has been consistently great for the last 10+ years, including this year.

But that's why it's going to be good game. If the whole forum is on the same side I would definitely get off the NE play.

Yeah, that`s exactly what I thought and I took Atlanta over 27.5 ( team total points ) but now I`m wondering how many points Atlanta can score if the Cheatriots have Atlanta`s offensive game plan for the Super Bowl.

there's nothing to worry about with that playbook thing, these guys keep them on tablets now and not in some huge folder that's easy to quickly take pictures of....I'm saying there's nothing to that story

Pats are completely healthy on defense and they play great team defense.
This could very well be one of those 45-10 games.
Atlanta lost 4 games when they were kept under 24 or less points.
Pats will get their points easy.
This is just like when they played Manning and his high powered colt offenses with weak defenses.

NE lost when they were kept under 24 or less points. In NE, 0-16 to Buffalo.
Atlanta will get their points easy.
This is just like when they played Manning and his high powered colt offenses that defeated NE.

Lol wishful thinking

You Falcons backers crack me up how much you're downplaying NE like they're some new inexperienced team/coaching staff that's going to get exposed.

Who cares about opponent's QB ratings... points are what matter and the Pat's, while facing many shit teams, led the league in scoring D. Last week everyone said Pitt would win because the Pat's hadn't faced a dynamic offense and that game was an easy Pat's win/cover... the defense crushed Pitt, held them to 9 points until a meaningless garbage-time TD.

ATL may win (I wouldn't bet it, but surely they are a great team), may cover, but it isnt because the Patriots #1 scoring defense sucks. That theory was dispelled and any Pitt backer can show you their thinner bankroll if you need evidence. Jesus, #1 scoring defense, 15-3 ATS, and arguably the best defensive coach in NFL history. The Pat's defense is very good. Not the best, but very, very good. A shit-load better than ATL's defense. People seem to forget the Falcons were 11-5, not some juggernaut.

That is true. Buffalo did shutout NE with Brissett at QB. That should have a lot of bearing on Sunday.

NE scored 40 a month later with Brady back, but whatever works.

NE's D faced one marshmellow offence after another all year long. Easiest sched in the whole leaque. Dead last, #32 of 32 teams.

Speaking of "points are what matter":

NE & Atlanta had 5 common opponents in the 2016-2017 season.

Atlanta allowed fewer points against than NE in 3 out of 5 of those.

Overall NE allowed a mere 3 points less than Atlanta in the combined total of points allowed in the 5 common opponent games.*

* Since Atlanta played one of the teams twice, i used the average number of points allowed in the two games.

Points allowed vs common opponents:

Seattle: NE 31, Atl 20 & 26 (ave 23)

Arizona: NE 21, Atlanta 19

San Fr: NE 17, Atlanta 13

LA Ra: NE 10, Atlanta 14

Denv: NE 3, Atlanta 16

Total: NE 82, Atlanta 85

"Despite missing four games due to a violation of league rules, Bell racked up 1,268 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground this year alongside 616 receiving yards. His absence against New England was a critical factor in the lopsided 36-17 loss."

I've also seen a report of Roethlisberger being injured or not fully healthy.

IMO the Pats D is untested, unproven. This season they haven't faced anything close to what they'll face in the Super Bowl. The NE D has been called a bend but not break D that gives up a ton of yardage. IOW they've been lucky in the red zone vs cupcakes. Now they get their first real test vs an offence of the calibre of Green Bay & New Orleans.

The Falcons were 11-5, though they easily beat Seattle in the playoffs, while Seattle won at NE.

Against common opponents Atlanta was 5-1. NE 4-1.

Atlanta massacred GB & Seattle recently. GB easily routed Seattle. Seattle won in NE vs Brady
on national television.

Therefore Atlanta is more than capable of defeating NE by 5 TDs.

Untested/unproven after 18 games? Disagree. This is NFL, not college. Teams are full of pros. SOS is not a good indication or reliable tool to cap NFL games....thus the saying "any given Sunday".
Yes, stats show equal and ATL may win. But again, on biggest stage, I'll roll the dice with the more consistent team.

AFC East aside from NE the worst division in nfl . Buff . Jets. Miami ....... not much more needs to be said. I think both D's in super bowl match up poorly VS these QB's. I honestly believe Atlanta is the better overall team but its very difficult to best against a team like NE that seems to get more calls their way than the team they are playing. I think a prop bet on Sinu would be very safe play. Good luck to all & enjoy the game

Miami was 10-4 in games they didn't play the Pats.

The Bills had the #1 rushing offense in the league behind a mauling offensive line.

Who did Atlanta score all of those pts against? Green Bay, New Orleans, Carolina....These are some of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.
