look....i apologize for being so mean....i thought the tillman comments were a bit harsh.....

i`m not so bad,l.....i actually considered voting for kerry.....

it`s just that i`m concerned that if kerry gets elected that the other tomato-producing countries of the world will become targets of American aggression....

do you know how many tomatoes it takes to make one bottle of Heinz ketchup?

Got exactly what he signed up for ...

I'll never understand your countries' devotion to genocide in the name of world hegemony.

Thankfully he has no children. Imagine explaining "national interest" to a child who just lost their father in the name of it.

All I read about this guy is how smart he was. His agent called him a "deep and clear thinker". PLEASE !! How smart is it to turn down millions to get yourself killed in a country most Americans can't even spell.

What a complete joke this guy was. He was nothing more than a good ole boy who wanted to go "blow some shit up".

You want to start thrwoing words around like honor, courage, and bravery ? Save them for people like the Tibetan monks who - unlike so-called American war heroes are willing to DIE for their belief in peace and freedom rather than KILL for it.

When will you people EVER learn ?

Hey Gondo ... turn off your television for about three years, then tell me what your national interest is.

Regarding your bogey man 'radical Muslims' ... I'll only have the war *****ring, 'radical Christian' colonists to the south of me to blame.

You are so bloody brain washed you haven't an original thought in your noodle. I have nothing but pity for you.

Peace.

Spinter,
Not a big deal - we all have the right to express our own views.

FWIW - I'm not a democrat and I'm certainly not a John Kerry fan. In fact, I would probably vote against Kerry if it was any other Rep candidate in modern history - yes, even Bush Sr.

Now, now, Floyd -- even this level of animosity is beneath you.

Meanstreak -- nice to see another Canuck on the board. Some days it gets so lonely out here.

On Tillman: it seems some believe he died in the war in Iraq, when in fact he died in Afghanistan, an entirely different war that had revenge/self-defense in mind (plus a pipeline, but who's counting?) The thing about Tillman's story that makes it so compelling is not that he died for his country, but that he gave up millions of dollars for the opportunity. Call it heroism all you like, I just think it's extremely bizarre. But then, us Canadians don't have the same back-patting moral reward system for military service that you guys do. Funny how much more valuable a life becomes after it's been lost.

XP,

I can relate to Tillman's decision to give up the millions for what he believes in. I gave up a high corporate position with a 7-digit future to fight my own battle and be what many consider to be a degenerate bum, and I never regretted it either. Of course I don't think I'm anywhere near the hero this guy is, but I may have gone 10% in that direction so I can relate.

I read a great book a couple months back called "My Jihad" by Aukai Collins. It's a similar story of a guy who gave up a comfortable lifestyle to fight in the trenches, although in his case he was on the Muslim side. A good read in any case and gives a good insight into the mind of the enemy.

When Tillman came out with the decision to forgoe the NFL to serve in Bush/Cheney war I was blown away. The official version of why we went to war is getting weaker every day. I am amazed that anyone is still supporting this conflict. From the day 911 happened I am still waiting for an answer about BUsh decision to read the Pet Goat story, then react so late. Also how in the world could the plane slam into the pentagon and the secretary or defense be unaware of the hijacking until the plane hit the building. No one is asking the questions. Just wait for the draft.....

xpanda,

Can you find an all Canadian forum to respond to ? I could not imagine talking about Canadian or French issues in a forum dominated by 99% of that group. You must be the most bored women ever.

Geez, call Pat strange, weird, stupid, what whatever you want ......you flat ass computer sitting pieces of sh*t will never know what he did or what the other brothers and sisters of the military do ....regardless of your opinion of the politics involved ..... Lander, Everfresh, and Banned for 4 Life are pathetic pieces of crap and they know it .....funny how others think they are American citizens ...they are fakes ......funny lol

I appreciate your concern for how I spend my private time, and I do belong to an all-Canadian forum that has a handful of internationals on it. Thing is, it doesn't also offer up gambling advice.

For what it's worth, I've never given a rat's ass about American politics until Bush starting beating his war drums just south of my border. Try as you might to pretend it's not true, most of the international community is a little more than concerned about this guy.

I really don't care what Canadians have to say about our fallen war heroes. We breathe and live because of them. Tillman was an unselfish man who laid down his life for us. For people to bad mouth him or say that war is never necessary is a disgrace.
