6-4-1 ATS PAC-10 GAME OF THE WEEK
0-4 ATS Last Week, 35-27 For the Year - all lined PAC 10 Games
I hope you heeded my warning in last week's right up, and faded my downtroddin' ass. If so you got $$$$. Have no fear now, my friend, as a pulled a Mark Gracian slumpbuster Saturday Night and double-stuffed her just to change me luck....Oh yeah, I'm back.
I love picking on Buckeye fan. I know it bothers them even more when I say USC would have kicked the crap out of Ohio State last year had they played in a bowl game, and would do so this year also. Obviously this is because the Pac 10 and Big 10 have always, and should always be linked as rival conferences due to the grand history of the Rose Bowl. Unfortunately, the BCS screwed it up for everyone, and USC had nothing else to do that to whip up on BIG 10 CHAMPION Iowa last year.
Actually Buckeye…or Cincy…or anyone else with an Ohio prefix…I admire your passion for your team, your territory. That is what makes college football great. Believe me, I’m an Oregon State Beaver for gods sake, and I will go to my grave saying that no one in the country would have beat Oregon State in the 2000 Fiesta Bowl, not Oklahoma, not Miami, obviously not those little bitches from Notre Dame that had no right to be playing in a BCS bowl game. So what if no one agrees with me. You go Buckeye, and good luck this weekend against Purdue and especially Michigan the week after, you will need it. And just so you know, as I’ve stated a hundred times before…I HATE USC.
So with that…..
GAME OF THE WEEK (WEEK 10)
USC –28 AT ARIZONA
Yep…Ohio State Fan…the team that would slaughter your pathetic “barely able to handle Penn State, Northwestern, Bowling Green, and San Diego State” Buckeyes is going to continue to show you how to handle yourself against the cream puffs. No close calls, no last second miracles, no help from the refs (just kiddin’).
That is what USC does. They win and they win Big. So what if they screw up and lose at Cal in overtime. Who cares. Win the rest and win them Big. Pete Carroll should be the coach of the year. You know why? Because Pete Carroll has done what no other Pac 10 coach in the past 20 years has done. He figured out how to put a west coast team in the mouths of all the east coast sports writers. Where before the Pac 10 was thought of as soft (and still is), USC is described as tough, rugged, aggressive. His formula? You take the best athletes from the biggest city in the USA, you put them on a football field, and you let them beat the shit out of inferior teams with inferior athletes.
USC average margin of victory? 24. USC average points scored per game? 40. USC average points allowed? 19. I know Ohio State fan, you have played a tougher schedule…one that includes almighty Indiana, Northwestern, Penn State, and San Diego State. Watch USC. Learn. Punish your opponent.
And boy is USC going to punish Arizona. Prophet, if you are reading this, I KNOW you are leaning with Arizona. Be wary my friend. There is a pattern to USC’s madness, and it showed last year. Because Pete Carroll knows how to keep USC’s name in the headlines. You win Big. You grab your opponent by the throat and you rip his head off. You let your 5-Star recruits do what they came to do. Dominate.
Here is USC’s margin of victory from last year after losing to WSU: Cal (2), UW (20) At Oregon (11), At Stanford (32), ASU (21), At UCLA (31), Notre Dame (31), Bowl Game vs. Iowa (21). By the way, all covers ATS. Note the last four games prior to the bowl game, where USC started to punish their opponents in their drive for a BCS game. Three of those teams, ASU, UCLA, and ND had 7-3 records or better going into the game. This year a similar pattern is emerging, as they have crushed everyone since losing to Cal and have won two of the past three games by 27 or more points. By the way, all covers ATS.
The next lamb for slaughter…only the worst football team in the Pac 10. Albeit one that pulled the Pac 10 upset of the year last week by beating Washington. But still, by far, the worst team in the Pac 10. This team has lost by at least 28 points five times this year, including two of the past three games.
This will be number six. USC will dominate here, because Pete Carroll knows how to keep USC in the spotlight. How to keep USC ranked #2 in the BCS. Impress the pollsters, impress the media, impress the computers???? How do you do that?
You let your 5-star recruits go out and punish the wannabes, the hopefuls, the 2-star recruits, the inferior teams with inferior athletes. You win BIG.
Final Score: USC 52 – Arizona 17
The Rest of the Pac 10 Slate
Ducks. ****ing Ducks. I hate the Ducks. I am Beaver. I Love Beaver. I will be at the Civil War game cheering in your face as the Beavers run right through your wimp defense and soil on your pretty Nike stadium. Oh yeah, I’m getting ahead of myself. Ducks go to UCLA this weekend. UCLA has the worst offense in Division 1. They run on first down no matter what. They face 3rd and long on every drive. Yet, they will still hang 40something on the Ducks, just like every other team with a winning record has when the Ducks leave Autzen. Now some of you may be familiar with the recent Duck domination ATS over the Bruins, but fear not my friend, because the only reason the Ducks won half those games is because UCLA had the worst coach in Pac 10 history at the helm, Fat Toledo. Ducks get basted for sure.
Stanford gets to play at OSU on Senior Day in Corvallis. Let’s see. Oregon beat Stanford by 35. That means Oregon State beats Stanford by 56, because Oregon State is three touchdowns better than Oregon. Oh Yeah, I forgot, Mike Riley is the coach of the Beavers. The same Mike Riley that had his team so well prepared for Washington coming out of their last bye week. The same Mike Riley that insists on letting his quarterback lose big games and throw interceptions when you have a three score lead and your running game is plowing through the Washington State defense. Obviously I have issues with this guy. But Ohio State fan, if you want in the BCS, you better start rooting for my Beavers. OSU wins big here, and if they don’t…shoot the coach.
Washington State took out some frustration against UCLA last week, ands I’m a thinking the hicks up in Pullman are gonna be havin’ another ass-whoopin’ Saturday. Seriously, Washington State can still make the Rose Bowl, but they need to start winning more impressively, and they get the chance here against a team that only passes and has an awful offensive line. The WSU defense should T-off on ASU and Andrew Walter. ASU has at least five turnovers in this game.
Washington plays at Cal and I’m not sure who will show up, Jeckell or Hyde. That pertains to both teams. Therefore, I will not bet this game and can make no recommendations.
Final Predictions:
UCLA -2 vs. Oregon: UCLA 42 – Oregon 20
OSU -14 vs. Stanford: OSU 38 – Stanford 19
WSU -12.5 vs. ASU: WSU 44 – ASU 24
Cal -5.5 vs. Washington: Cal 34 – Washington 31 (gotta pick someone so I’ll take the points)
Good luck all, kick the man’s ass.
Dr. Death. I know how you feel, brother, but we need you here. Come back.
