YTD 10-3 – Pac 10 Game of the Week
YTD 35-30-1 – All Pac 10 Lined Games

Last week was a double victory for me, as my home-town Beavers destroyed the hated Nike Ducks. Great to win the rivalry game and win money.

Two game slate this week, I like one a lot.

PAC 10 GAME OF THE WEEK

ASU -14 At <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1lace w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Arizona</st1:State></st1lace>

Arizona, a real bad football team, has one last chance to make a statement in front of the home crowd before basketball season starts…..OOOOOHHHHH, basketball season already started and no one in Tucson gives a damn about Arizona football other than the six diehards at the tailgaiter who still remember the glory days of Desert Swarm.

I have to take Andrew Walter in his final regular season game. I think ASU wants to make a statement. Since losing to Cal, this team has virtually stayed put in both the AP and Coaches Poll while other two loss teams leapfrogged them into higher rankings, including one that they beat handily at the start of the season (Iowa).
Real quick, Soap Box please. I know, I know, the Pac 10 is the weakest conference in Division I and if ASU played <st1:State w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Iowa</st1lace></st1:State> today they would crush ASU…Bullshit. If a team loses to another team by 30 something points and both teams have the same record, the team that won should never be ranked below the team they beat, I don’t care where the game was played. That is exactly how teams get screwed in this screwed up system. ASU lost to the #1 and #4 team in the country, beat the Big 10 co-champion, and the 24th ranked team in the country, and deserve to be ranked higher than <st1:State w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Iowa</st1lace></st1:State>. Not only did they beat the Big 10 co-champion, but they are ranked behind three Big 10 teams in the coaches poll!
I think <st1lace w:st="on"><st1laceName w:st="on">Arizona</st1laceName> <st1laceType w:st="on">State</st1laceType></st1lace> has a bit of a chip on their shoulder, and are out to prove that they are better than the 18th or 20th best team in the country. So a team that averages over 30 points a game, with a pretty solid defense, gets to play one of the worst offensive teams in the country to end the season. I could give you lots of other stats but its really not necessary.
<o></o>
Touchdown, <st1lace w:st="on"><st1laceName w:st="on">Arizona</st1laceName> <st1laceType w:st="on">State</st1laceType></st1lace>….five times.
Final Score: <st1laceName w:st="on">Arizona</st1laceName> <st1laceType w:st="on">State</st1laceType> 38 – <st1:State w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Arizona</st1lace></st1:State> 17
The only other Pac 10 game is Notre Dame at USC, who are giving 23 generous points. If I had to take a side I’d take the points because USC seems to stop playing when they hit 40 points, and they may have a little more difficulty getting there against an OK Notre Dame team. There is always the possibility that USC will play up to the BCS mongers and destroy Notre Dame. The line I can’t figure out is the total, which is currently 48. I mean, either USC wins in a blow-out, like 44 – 10, or Notre Dame covers which will be like 34 – 21. Either way, when a team has a potential to score that many points by themselves (I hope you’ve been taking <st1:State w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Utah</st1lace></st1:State> over this year), gotta play the number too.
Final Score: USC 38 – Notre Dame 20
Hope everyone had a great turkey day and has a great weekend. On Saturday night someone please remind me not to bet NFL, that no matter who I bet on, I will be on the wrong side. Thanks.
