Was wondering what is the overall cost of living in CR ?????

I am sure that it can vary greatly, however just a general cost would be great.

In other words could you live nice on 2500.00 a month us$

Thanks

You would probably have to pick a place to live, and get your rent to 450-750 a month. San pedro in the city, and then pick your beach such as quepos. Craigslist is good for rents, and you would probably not need a car if you plan on a regular happy hour.

You can live more than fine on a 2500 budget, most of the time I spend 1500-2000 and some times much less and am also supporting my wife.

I tell my wife we could retire early if we moved to CR.

Fat chance though.

$2500 should do you fine, depending how spendy you are... Decent restaurants can add up, as well as gambling/strippers/hookers/drugs etc, but for a casual lifestyle you should be ok.

A car is the big expense in Costa Rica. Expensive to buy, drive and maintain.

Would it be a stretch to think one could live walking distance from a beach like quepos, and withdraw your 2500 from your BetJam transfer card? Are there a small variety of local ma & pa cafe's to eat at around the beach?
I would not have a car to minimize expenses. i will get a taxi a few days a month to go in to town.

No worries pulling money out at the beach. You can rent fairly cheap at the beach depending on the location and rental. Tons of ma and pa shops for eating. Surf is usually good most of the year.

Sounds like a real life fantasy island.

Believe it or not, I do have a plan. I need to spend the next 6 months growing my BR 20% per month, but it has been working the last 3 months.

After the Safe Port act was passed I decided to pack up and move to Quepos for awhile. I had no money saved and worked on Tico wages for the whole time I was there. My wife and I lived off a combined income of around $700 a month, $800 if tips were good and and they usually werent. We lived fairly well although our apartment was shit within walking distance of three beaches and conveniently located halfway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio(Near the famous Super Joseth). Its pretty safe to say that you could live just fine on 2500 in Quepos assuming you dont have a coke habit of course.

As long as your dealer isn't ripping you off with gringo prices you should still be ok too.

We should have a beer sometime OSS, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and I have never seen you post anything I disagreed with.
