Eddie is the man! Got my cousin and I a 6 bedroom 5000sf home for $1200 a month. Great deals, great service and a great guy to work with.

I just want to know if Costa Rica will ever go back to having values like this:

http://www.casabarbarita.com/listings7.htm

If it weren't such a b*tch to fly to Merida from the West Coast I would seriously consider this one. The whole Yucatan is swimming with gringos looking for vacation homes like this one.

I made a quick search, from LAS its two flights away......from LAX and the like same thing

seems not too bad flight wise , of course I asume that on certain months flight times might change or be completely cancelled but planning it properly should be no more hassle than normal flying

Its like Tico airline pricing though, not much competition. You can fly to Cancun fairly easy and for a good price, but Merida is big premium pricing, often $700 or more unless you find a great bargain. Besides Merida is made for east coasters, that is less than two hour flight from Miami, so maybe 4 hours from just about anywhere on the East Coast.

Then again having a place in Costa Rica would be even worse in terms of travel time, but obviously not stopping too many gringos from buying.

from LAS it was around 550 LAX about 500

At any rate a 6 hour or more flight "experience" these days is not to be something I look forward to....starting by the never ending luggage searches etc

If I were looking for a summer place or a vacation destination where I would go on a regular basis anything other than a direct flight is a big hassle

I am more concerned with the fact that it is over 30C and humid every day in Yucatan with lots of rain in the summer. When you live in Vegas all you can think about is a nice cool place to hang out in the summer. Unfortunately the few available a reasonable distance from here are either dead ski resort towns or ridiculously priced like the San Diego area.

Ummmm dry weather down here I supose can't be that common

The standard carribean islands are nice then again the ridiculous price of everything makes you feel sick immediately

One of my nicest trips was going to Vancouver in July which is when everything is on fire in the States..........nice city, nice cool weather (agree.....not good for taking the sun and getting a tan), plenty of things to do/places to go

Are you kidding? Just spend some time on the water, you'll get plenty of sun and tan (and wind burn). There's no place on earth better than Vancouver or Seattle in July.

umm not sure how hot it gets , I am sure the UV radiation is more than enough but if its cold (It was cold when I went) its not very inviting to sun bathing, perhaps I went closer to fall? But I am sure it was july

It rains and is cloudy in Van in the summer too, just a lot less than in winter. Its usually around 20-25C, very pleasant weather but definitely not something that makes you want to sit by the pool all day. I lived a summer up there and it was fantastic. A sunny clear day in Van isn't all that common, but it sure can be breathtaking.

I work in business development and corporate finance for a gaming company. Great job, would be hard to find something that paid this well and was an interesting challenge each day.
