Franks Quotes:

"If you look at the three best quarterbacks in the country, they came from the Big 12," said Franks, referring to Oklahoma's Sam Bradford, Texas' Colt McCoy and Texas Tech's Graham Harrell.

"The three best receivers in the country came from the Big 12. The three best tight ends came from the Big 12. So we've faced some great offenses, and a lot of people don't understand that other conferences don't have what we face."

"We're coming in and facing Tebow, and he wants to run the ball a lot more. He's predominantly a running quarterback. So to me it's going to be a lot easier for us to prepare to stop the run than having to face a quarterback that might throw the ball 40 or 50 times a game."

The last time someone talked shit about Tebow they kicked the living shit out of LSU.

I understand he said this while answering a question but that doesnt mean its not unneeded trash talk.

Taking nothing away from Bradford, McCoy, Harrell and the rest of the Big 12 gunslingers but... Maybe that's becasue Big 12 QB's get to play against Big 12 defenses!

Because Texas Tech sure made Snead look like a fricking All American, didn't they???

put snead up against big 12 defenses every game and you can insert him into the heisman campaign. tebow will bring home the nc for the gators and wont have to answer the questions whos the best qb?....he will be able to show you 2 rings though.

Plenty of animosity towards Franks from the above posters. I thought he had some clever comments and they were pretty funny. What do you want, some drone, who just repeats the talking points of, "Tebow, yeah he's a great qb, and he's going to be hard to defend". Seems like everyone is on Florida. Which tells me one thing, OU to the bank :pope:

It usually doesn't work that way in a championship game. 9 times out of 10 there isn't a square or sharp side. You'll lose ur ass with this type of thinking, but GL.

Spikes Has Spoken

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Just when you thought most of the smack talk was over between the teams leading up to the FedEx BCS National Championship Game, Florida middle linebacker Brandon Spikes unloaded on Oklahoma during Monday's Media Day at Dolphin Stadium.

Clearly, he's not a big fan of the Sooners' defense, and that's putting it mildly.

"If they can stop our offense, hey, my hat goes off to them," Spikes said. "But I really don't think they can. As long as we play well on defense, give the ball back to Tim (Tebow) and the rest of those guys, we should roll."

And with that, Spikes took off the gloves -- probably telling you a couple of things. One, he's pretty confident about Thursday's game. Two, he's probably headed to the NFL after this game, because he sure didn't seem very concerned about the ramifications of saying too much to the media.

"You keep hearing they've done this and scored all these points in the last five games," Spikes said. "But I really feel like they haven't faced a defense like ours, and Big 12 defenses are a joke. It's always like a bunch of basketball scores when I watch SportsCenter. So we'll see."

Spikes said the Sooners are "living in a fantasy world" with some of the things they've said about Tebow not even being among the top quarterbacks if he played in the Big 12.

"Deep down, they know what they're going to get," Spikes said. "I don't know if they're trying to pump each other up or what. That's just crazy to say something like that."

Florida running back Jeffery Demps went one better. He said the Sooners "must be on something" to suggest that Tebow would be no better than the fourth best quarterback in the Big 12.

Hey, if the game's this good Thursday, we should be in for a treat.

Good capping strategy. It works about 50% of the time. Texas Tech made the 5th best SEC team look like national champions.

Tebow is one hell of a player. But what scares me more is he's got this guy:pope:on his side. One hotline prayer to the man up above and OU's cooked.
