When CBS announced that Phil Simms was being removed from the broadcasting booth I rejoiced.
I could now watch the game without listing to Captain Obvious and his never ending dribble.

You don't know what you got until it's gone.

Tony Romo IMHO is worse. His oohs and ahhs over every replay drives me nuts. And much like
Simms he never knows when to shut his pie hole.

Yes he knows football and can call the play before it happens but so can any astute observer
sitting on the couch in his living room.

I miss the days of Summerall and Madden.

Thankfully NBC will broadcast this year's Super Bowl, with Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth
making the call.

Summerall and Madden, Dick Endberg, Howard Cosell, Vin Scully, Jon Miller and Joe Morgan...

The good ol' days of sports broadcasting are gone.

it's just you :)

I like Tony, although he's always hanging on for that catch to be ruled a no catch a tad too long

I can see why you’d say that and to a certain degree I agree Tony may talk a bit much but I gotta tell ya I really love his insight and does a great job of explaining things that are happening before the snap. For being a rookie broadcaster I think he’ll get better at it if they keep him.

Tony Romo tries to be a hero by calling plays ahead of the time.

Yeah he needs to slow his roll.

Well the jury is in. It's me. While Romo won't stop me from watching games
I suppose I can always utilize the mute feature on the remote.

Thanks for the replies.
