I might be going to the Superbowl. I have a hotel reservation in St Pete's at the Pier Hotel. Is St. Pete's a nice town? How does it compare to Tampa? I don't know if I should try to stay in St Pete's or Tampa. Any info is appreciated.

I have lived in Tampa, St. Pete, and Clearwater in my 7 years in the bay area.

Downtown St. Pete is 50-1 over downtown Tampa.

In St. Pete you not only have the Pier and the bay, but tons more dining, bars, and entertainment venues.

If you would like any additional info, just ask.

Also, you are closer to the beach(less then 10 miles) if you stay in St. Pete, and visiting one of the beaches for a day is a must if your in the area.

I would recommend Clearwater or St. Pete Beach...........

Thank you Fishhead! Looking around the web it looks like St Petersburg is very nice! Now if only the Cardinals can get to the Superbowl I will be there also!

There is some shitty areas around St.Pete like anywhere so know where your going.

Where you want to be is Pinellas Park

Perhaps many years ago, but not now.

Pinellas Park is literally one of the worst areas in the entire bay area to visit and live, excluding the ghettos. After living there for nearly two years, was delighted to move from there.

Downtoen St. Pete is fine as long as you do not venture south of 1ST AVE SOUTH.........stay to the north of that avenue. Also, would not recommend going weat of 9th street.

For your convenience, the east-west streets in St. Pete are AVENUES and the north-south streets are named STREETS.......each in numerical order.

4th street has many unique bars and eating venues(chain restaurants as well), all the way from the downtown area north to 120th avenue............check out the EL CAP for a tasty burger and some unique atmosphere.

Remember, just stay NORTH of 1ST AVENUE SOUTH/CENTRAL AVENUE and you will be fine.

I hope you are not saying that you MIGHT go to Tampa because your team MIGHT make it to Tampa...if you are this is a terrible jinx

Alright baby! One step closer to the Superbowl as the Cardinals host the NFC game! One more question....what are the scalping laws in Florida? I probably won't have tickets to the Superbowl until I get to Tampa. I know here in AZ. scalping is legal, is it legal in Florida? Just wondering because if it is it would probably make it easier to get tickets.
