Any sites have real early lines even before nominations are announced?

I remember years back some books would have real early lines.

Would love to get Rourke for best Actor before the steam makes him unbettable.

best movie is a coinflip between the Wrestler and Benjamin Button IMO (hated Button flick but it has that Oscar thing in it)

Wouldn't count on Rourke winning: Penn won most of the early awards and is the favorite to win the Golden Globe next Sunday.

Not the Oscars, but perhaps you like the +400 for Rourke to win the Golden Globe.

No question in my mind Rourke gets Oscar, not sure how Oscar does when Golden Globe has different winner.

let me check on that

Since 1996 the Golden Globe Best Actor Drama and oscars have been different 7 times.

But the last 3 years they were both the same

Thegreek offers GG, but pretty low limits.
Besides that some European books (paddypower, boylesports) and Australian centrebet.

Actually I have Penn to win the GG (+160) with a cashback if Rourke wins (reduces the odds down to about -105).
Penn outscored Rourke during the current award season and I think the Foreign Press prefers Penn because of Milk's topic.

I badly misjudged Penns
Oscar chances.
Didnt think Rourke was second fiddle to anyone after seeing The Wrestler

Actually I don't think you are that much off: I don't think Langella will matter in this decision and DiCaprio/Pitt are completely off the charts in my eyes.
But although I prefer Penns chances at least for the GG, I think it's a much closer race than the odds could make you think. Rourke has the whole comeback thing going for him and Penns success with Mystic River only a few years back could also cost here or at the Oscars.

Get on these when they come out:

- Heeth Ledger for supporting actor (no matter what the odds) (When I type his first name correctly, I get asterisks. wtf???)

- Slumdog for Best Picture

- Danny Boyle for Best Director

Best Actor probably a toss up right now.

Wall E will win best animated. But the chalk on that is going to be rediculous.

Matchbook has had these out for a while.

I have grabbed up Ledger to win Best Supporting Actor at -530, -570, and -590.

Also have some Milk at +400 for Best Picture and a flier on Revolutionary Road at +5000

I don't think Benjamin Button wins at all. Too long of a movie.

I originally thought it was a slam dunk for Best Picture to either be Slumdog Millionaire or Milk, but the more I think about Slumdog Millionaire it just doesn't resonate as worthy of winning Best Picture. The only way I think it could win BP is if Hollywood wants to give a nod to Bollywood and Indian cinema.

I think Milk wins Best Picture.

quick GG thoughts for tonight. Low limits and very few books offering but what the hey;

-Penn is not really a strong fav for Best Film Actor for a Drama. His movie Milk was snubbed in the Best Film category and he has a bad history with the Globes. He failed to appear after he won a few years back. Globes will have no problem overlooking him here. Problem is besides Leo I could see any of the other three winning. Value wise Langella and Pitt may be the best bets.

-Best Director looks to be a Boyle victory. If Slumdog is upset its probably in the Best Film, not here. I hear Finch is not well liked and its really between the two. -200 or better is worth betting.

-Best Film Actress in a drama is interesting. Just a few days ago on the GG's site had Hathaway checked as the winner in this category. It was called a glitch and of course removed. I actually do believe it was an error as her name is listed first and its said only a few people know the results before show night (who knows really). Anyways whats interesting is the odds shifted in Hathaway's favor as I guess the public believes the "glitch" on the official GG site was legit. This category only has two winners imo, Hathaway or Streep. Winslet is the other name actress but her chance is in supporting. If you believe the glitch was truly an error try Streep at 3-1 or better. In reality she should be a slight fav over Hathaway.

-Best Supporting Actress has two choices imo, Cruz or Winslet. Winslet has gone 0-for quite a lot at the Globes and perhaps they finally reward her. Problem is Cruz has been collecting most of the awards in this category this season. Still I've read the voters like "The Reader" and it makes sense to reward it here. 2-1 or better is worth a shot.

1. H. Ledger, best supporting actor, -1100 to win 1 unit.
2. P. Cruz, best supporting actrees, +110 for 1 unit.
3. D.Boyle, best director, -210 to win 1 unit.
4. SD Millionare, best dramatic film, -250 to win 1 unit.

would have loved to bet these for 5 units each like i have in previous years,
but no one besides greek has lines up and their limit is only 100.
