I'd like to hear some opinions on this one because the Over is really sticking out at me as a play. I would like to hear from the West Coast guys first though to get their opinions on it.
Help me out guys does this look like a solid OVER play?
Two best defenses in the PAC 10. Washington St has struggled in the red zone (I believe Dunning leads the nation in FGs) and OSU QB Anderson is suspect on the road.
Thanks I did see they are both ranked pretty high in the defensive stat categories but the quality of offensive opponents is what throws me for a loop.
Wazzu has played the 110th (Zona), 109th (Stanford) and 107th (ND) offenses in 3 of their games which would lead me to believe the defense may be a little overrated. The only decent offense (Colorado) ranked in the top 30 that they have played was a 47-26 final.
As for Oregon St they have the 16th ranked offense in the nation and their last 3 totals have been 62, 56 and 55 points against teams with less potent offenses than the Cougars (25th in total offense).
I also have been looking at a system that is 12-1-1 on totals this season and this is the only total it recommends playing this weekend. Believe me I am looking for plenty of reasons to AVOID it but I'd like to hear more from people like you that are closer and more in tune to the PAC-10 action. Thanks and appreciate the response.
I am on Oregon St +8 myself. Looking for both defenses to play well and keep the game close. Of course in the PAC 10 a good defensive battle could still be 28-24. Good luck.
I like Oregon State as well so far. Washington State's schedule IMO is suspect now that we know ND and Colorado are pretty weak. They did paste the Ducks though. Any more info would be appreciated! I'm a little off so far this week (Va Tech, MD).
A couple of things to look at with respect to Beavs is QB Anderson is a walking TO waiting to happen. He's already had one 5pick game (Fresno) and a couple 3 pick games. I'm expecting TO's for TD's or field position which should (and I say should) add to the scoring. Also OSU coverage teams getting gouged on returns this year. Teams are now going to look at the way UW used run blitzes to control the line of scrimmage and Jackson on the ground. Finally, don't put too much into poor showing in WSU last game at Stanford. They never play overly well when to visit "The Farm" or off by weeks. They did enough to get by with a couple of banged up RB's. They had to throw the ball quite a bit.
