Expected this line to be OSU +3.

Many will point to the short week for OSU and how this is a classic let-down spot. Perhaps, but word out of Corvallis is the kids got valuable experience outplaying last-year's national champion for 59 minutes and are extremely confident coming out of a brutal loss, another classic "come from ahead" loss to put on Mike Riley's mantle.

Boise State lost a ton of talent from last year's squad and they will not see a defense as big and strong and fast as OSU's. On the flip side, OSU's offense just got done playing against one of the best defenses in the country, and now goes to play against a much smaller, somewhat slower defense.

It is still the PAC 10 vs. the WAC, (For those of you east of Colorado, that is like the Big 12 vs. the Sunbelt). And while Boise State is extremely well coached, the talent level top-to-bottom is nowhere near an upper echelon Pac 10 team.

OSU will put up 30+ points at Boise State, we'll have to wait and see if BSU can put up 7.5 more, but I REALLY LIKE OSU's chances for an outright win.

One caveat...watch the injury report and check Derek Anderson's status. If he goes he will throw for 400+ yards....no way BSU's secondary or pass rush can match LSU's.

Thanks fellas, appreciate all the wonderful insight I get from you both. Why don't you read my Pac-10 thread from last week and see how you each could have earned $$$$$$ following my plays this year.

Or continue to flame....Others here got my back.

Thanks Pete...

I love people who criticize but offer no differing opinion or knowledge. We started a thread last week that I'm sure made us both a ton of money and probably helped alot of others...

WC Bias, Commin from the LBC I have seen my share of Pac 10. I know you do well, but this game has SUCTION written all over it. Even if you don't believe in that. Tell me why they dangle the 7.(5) on the line. Boise is an ESPN team first off. This game in my opinion has the makings of a offensive circus for boise. A lot of Beaver players will have feelings on who and why they lost that game. And trust me on this one, the kicker is not the only one that will be questioned. Riley is a great recruiter, but don't think he has what it takes to get his team up after what happened last week. I fully expect a masterfull gameplan from Boise. Meanwhile the only gameplan OSU will have is to boost moral. Also for the players who aren't bitter, they will think they have just man handled the co- nations best (last year) in LSU. And will subconsiously underestamate the opponent. This line should come down for Boise. I will be on Boise most likely. GL Always enjoy your write ups.

WC,
good start to pac ten picks.I was on stanford heavy for the game and in the 2nd half.interesting game coming up this week between ASU & N.Western.Last time ASU went into big 10 country they got embarrased 23-2 against Iowa on national tv.not that NW is Iowa but still not sure about this team after an easy win against a bad team.N.Western showed grit against TCU in coming back and almost one.ASU is a better team this year and this is a statement game for them. curious to see your thoughts as you are one of only a few that i respect within the pac ten.i am still looking it over.

Sure Guy...great observations in leading to an OSU let-down.

But that is the risk I'm more than willing to take. You made great points...the best one being that Dan Hawkins is a phenomenal coach. He does more with less year-in and year-out. But this year he has to shape a team without a lot of the experience he enjoyed from previous years. Dinwiddie, Gilligan, and company were used to playing against A-1 talent. Most of these Boise State guys (only 3 returning offensive starters, 6 returning defensive starters) have never seen it, and after playing Idaho, they are going to see a much bigger, faster, more talented squad than they will see all year.

I think OSU wins outright, I'll gladly take the seven plus points.

Prophet...

I don't have much to go on with ASU...from what I understand their defense has holes and UTEP kept shooting themselves in the foot. Wish I had seen the game. Northwestern is a dangerous team, I'd be hesitant to play that game...in fact...I absolutely won't!!!!I just think ASU is overhyped because of Andrew Walter...it's not like there was a tremendous amount of talent around him last year.

WC,

The Sure Guy makes a valid point about this game looking too good to be true, but I definitely agree with you on this game. Boise lost a ton on offense and their defense is a good WAC defense, but it is undersized and slow.

Oregon State still has the best defense in the PAC 10 and if they don't "give the game away" like they did last year in Fresno, Boise won't be able to keep up.

Good luck!

It's entirely possible that OSU was aided by the wet field against LSU and/or that LSU was looking ahead. It's also possible that psychologically OSU's season is already ruined. I wouldn't be so quick to jump on them; I won't be betting this game but if I had to go one way or the other I'd take BSU and lay the points.

I promise you that OSU isn't regarding their loss as a letdown. They feel like they outplayed LSU and should have won. If nothing else, they will be confident this weekend.

Personally I think Oregon State is shot. It is bad enough they lost a heart wrenching game to LSU but now add on the fact it is a short week, I love Boise State in this spot.

I pounded Boise State @ 6 & alot of others must have loved them to see the line shoot up to almost 8. Some spots say this line opened around 5.

I think Oregon State is the obvious side in this one. I also like the fact that we have Boise St looking for revenge as the Beavers were the only team to beat them last year in a game that Boise State outplayed them & had the game stolen from them on a bad call by the refs.

Oregon State is a solid team but I think they were aided against LSU because of the field conditions as that neutralized LSU's big advantage in the speed department.
