Unreal, I am speechless. Can they be this dumb, or is this the height of arrogance? I'm guessing the latter.

That'll get his poll numbers back up!:monsters-

Man, what a bunch.
They don'y even try to hide it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Saddam got a consultancy post with the Interim Iraqi Government while Bush is in charge.

How many times do we have to see the national government fail before we realize it can't do what the market does best. I'd rather have Sam Walton of Wallmart take over FEMA. Wallmart was more efficient than the federal government after the disaster.

This happens in every administration. The national government has to relinquish it's power before we can ever fix the problem. Corruption exists where ever there is unregulated power, ie: the federal government.

When a national disaster hits FEMA talks to their superiors who talks to the local government who talks to the state government and then sometime a week later FEMA gets the ok to send relief. When they fail they just hire someone new, or in this case they rehire the same guy. Meanwhile Wallmart has already sent 1000 truckloads of supplies and $15 million dollars.

So basically they hired him to evaluate himself from a job that he was pushed out of. Makes perfect sense.

I have said same thing about this bunch from the start. Most of us know this type of corruption exists, but Dubya and his crew are so brazen and yet it continues.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

No mention of his being re-hired in Google news. However, he is still on the payroll.

(CBS) — Later this evening, CBS News correspondent Gloria Borger spoke with a spokesman for FEMA, Russ Knocke, who confirmed that Brown remains on the FEMA payroll. He also said that technically Brown remains at FEMA as a "contractor" and he is "transitioning out of his job." The reason he will remain at FEMA about a month after his resignation, said the spokesman, is that the agency wants to get the "proper download of his experience."

RAW STORY

CBS News' Bob Schieffer just announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency has rehired ex-FEMA chief Michael Brown-- as a consultant to evaluate the agency's response to the disaster!

From CBS's Katrina blog: "Sept. 26, 2005 /6:44 p.m. (CBS) ? CBS News correspondent Gloria Borger reports that Michael Brown, who recently resigned as the head of the FEMA, has been rehired by the agency as a consultant to evaluate it's [sic] response following Hurricane Katrina."

CBS says they've confirmed Brown had been rehired. Brown resigned after taking heat when a Time Magazine article revealed that he had padded his resume with bogus jobs.

The Associated Press, however, tells the story differently: "Brown is continuing to work at the Federal Emergency Management Agency at full pay, with his Sept. 12 resignation not taking effect for two more weeks, said Homeland Security Department spokesman Russ Knocke."

Brown had been shopping his resume in Washington. Wrote U.S. News' Washington Whispers last week: "Ex-FEMA Administrator Michael Brown seems to be doing for his career what he did for the beleaguered agency. Less than a week after FEMA's dismal Hurricane Katrina response forced Brown out of the agency, he has been shopping his resume to headhunters and Washington PR firms. And it's not working. "He's radioactive," said one exec. An ally of Brownie in the PR world said he should have waited a month before starting his job hunt. "It's just a bad play."
