Tampa Bay +1.20 over TORONTO
The Maple Leafs definitely deserve some credit for not only winning games but for playing hard and for dominating play for long stretches at a time. Ron Wilson has this team playing so much better then anyone expected and he’s also instilled a great work ethic and a ton of confidence. Having said that, I think the Leafs may be caught with their guard down a bit after three terrific efforts against Boston, Anaheim and Ottawa. It’s one thing to be an underdog, as the Leafs have been in every game thus far. It’s an entirely different role to play when you’re the favorite and expected to win and that’s the situation the Leafs are in tonight. The Lightning has just one win on the year and it came against the Thrashers. Four days later they were out-shot by the Sharkies 45-22 in a 3-0 loss. After that effort this past Saturday, Barry Melrose put the team through what is called a bag skate on Sunday (so called because players skate until their bags fall off). There were very little pucks used through the 45-minutes, except for some early drills and battle drills. The rest of the time it was guys skating back and forth from line to line. I can almost assure you that after that message the Bolts will put forth a strong effort tonight. This is still a team with talent and it’s also worth noting that no goaltender in the league is playing better then Tampa Bay’s Mike Smith. He has a save percentage of .941 and with a strong effort and great goaltending the Lightning most certainly have a great chance of picking up a win here. Play: Tampa Bay +1.20 (Risking 2 units).

Makes too much sense considering the Leafs always seemed to lose last year when expected to win and vice versa.

I'm done with totals. I never hit those damn things, ever.

That Pitt/San Jose over looks like a sure trap to me.

Line is 5½ under -1.40 or something like that.
