This will be a very tough test for the Monarchs. ODU has already locked up the NUMBER one seed in this conference...

Hofstra is extremely playing well, having won 8 out of their last 9 conference games. They started out the season winning their first 9 games, then stumbled in the middle of the year by losing 5 out of 6, before they got red hot again...

ODU was very fortunate to beat them at Hostra on January 19 by one point, 67-66, during Hofstra's stumble in mid season. In fact, one of Hofstra's better BIG MEN, namely Wendell Gibson, was injured for that game and did not play.

Also, ODU shot 9 out of 15 from three point land, compared to 5 out of 20 from Hofstra. Hofstra's best guard and a lock for FIRST TEAM CAA this year, Loren Stokes scored 21 points and gives ODU match up fits.

Hofstra also outrebounded ODU 36-27, and snared down 17 Offensive Rebounds...

Incidentally, the only other time TWO times I went against ODU at HOME was when they played St. Joseph's and Delaware but did they did not cover either of those games..

HOFSTRA is battling 4 other CAA teams for the 3'rd and 4th seeds in this conference's tournament...

When I take a DOG getting 7 1/2 points, I like to believe that the DOG has a chance of not only covering but WINNING, and I feel that way tonight about this LIVE one, HOFSTRA...

Best of Luck,

THE SHRINK

JimFiest, get your info correct!!. Hofstra lost 67-66 in the first meeting between these two and are playing very well.ODU may win and cover but Hofstra is very capable of playing with these guys. :103631605 GLTA

You need to get a life and just fade me as shole rather than start name calling. You want name calling, you haven't seen nothing yet. Tired of YOUR BULLS HIT.

Shrink, you know your team well bette than I do, but I like ODU for the following reasons:

1) ODU playing to complete perfect home record this season should be motivation enough.

2) Nobody on Hofstra matches up with Laughton

**3) ODU may have locked up #1 seed in conference but if they want to avoid a 1st round game against a powerhouse in the Big Dance it would behoove them not to lose a game like this and get a crappy seed as a result. I truly believe ODU is ON regardless of whether they win Colonial Tourney or not. How they do in tourney will be based on their seed. If they draw an overrated team like Wisc or Pitt in the 1st round they have a chance, but if they draw a team like Alabama or Washington (just a couple that came to my head), they're toast. ODU needs this game tonight and Taylor, being a veteran of many Big Dances, knows it

Proph, give me a little credit. "We are talking spread"?

I realize this, of course. Similar to college football, margin of victory is not objectively factored into anything here, but an unimpressive 3-4 pt win over a middle of the road team might as well be a loss for ODU. It won't cost them a berth, but they need some impressive W's down the stretch if they want to get out of the 10-11 range.

Whorman, sorry about that, I should not of put it that way.Hofstra is 10-6 in conf & 18-7 and has won 8 out of 10 and of course played ODU tight in their 1st meeting. We can agree to disagree here as I like Hofstra. If ODU crushes them, than so be it, not a big deal, as that is gambling. Good luck!
