One of the most advanced baseball stadiums is Coors Field.

Yes you heard right.

Denver is famous for extreme weather conditions, including wild swings of 50 degrees or more within a single day, and snowfalls in June or September. To keep the playing surface at its finest through this, 45 miles of underground electric heating cables were installed. The system is broken down into three zones, each with its own thermostat, enabling the field to maintain an optimum temperature during freezes and help it "green up" for early season games. In addition, RBI's patented "GraviTURF" system was installed to passively drain precipitation through a level of pea gravel below the rootzone and on into more than two miles of perforated sub-drainage piping. Guaranteed to remove up to five inches of rain per hour, this gravity-based system is so efficient the field will be ready for play just minutes after a heavy downpour.

The stadium can drain up to 5 INCHES AN HOUR!! No wonder they hardly ever cancel games.

Winky don't you think the fans would come out to support the club if they could field a competitive product? The fans in Denver seem to be a loyal bunch with regards to their teams.

They are back out to Nuggets games so it definitely shows it's a good sports town. Have to put a winner on the field for them to show up though. if they field a good squad again, the fans will be back!

The crowds are pretty good in the summer. You have to remember at a mile high the weather is rather cold at night, not exactly that baseball feeling. Once it gets and stays warm LoDo gets hopping and people treat a game as just part of a night out experience.

Very nice stadium too. Only thing I don't get is why they turned the stadium to face the way it does. They could have had a stunning backdrop if they turned it around to face downtown and the Rockies. As it is now you have to sit high up out in right field to get a decent view.

agree 100%. but how are they gonna build that competitive team? after recent nightmares - NO GOOD PITCHER will EVER got there via free agency - they'd be an idiot to do so and while they can win 12-10 games @ Coors - when they go on the road - YIKES! the pitcher's still suck and now so do the hitters

look at someone like Vinny Castilla who hit like Babe Ruth @ Coors and Baby Ruth on the road

as long as the rocks are in that altitude - they will have a very tough time putting a great team on the field

and in denver - NO ONE draws well if they lose - witht one exception - and that is because Denver is all about Broncos' football and with a waiting list a mile long - fans who give up season tix see the waiting list people grab them up ASAP
