Shiiiiiittttttt.....that's in great shape. Wish I had a pic of mine before we cleaned it up.

100% clusterF, but we're talking 250+ switch ports in about a half rack

man guys....its such a mess....i gotta go up to that closet tomorrow and do something about it. I think Im gonna telnet into the 2 switches and see whats not connected and pull those cables...

shit...the bad part about going to that closet is that its 200 degrees in that bitch and its a tight squeeze since we have 500 million phpne lines going to it.

i need a new job....grrrr

I thought about this long and hard late last night and early this morning and here's my solution to all the damn problems we have...

i think im gonna make a proposal to the managers today....im gonna try to talk them into getting new switches. All this is still on fast ethernet - NOT fiber! lol

Im gonna propose:

3 Cisco 3560s (48 port)
2 Cisco 2950s (24 port)
1 Catalyst 4506 modular ethernet port

Ill have the local electrician company come in and run all the fiber for us cuz I really dont feel like doing that shit throughout 6 floors. And since we have 6 printers on the 2nd floor that cost us a total of 2.5 million dollars, I think I'll put them on thier own VLAN and dedicate a 4 gig trunk to them since thier constantly pulling PDFs and other graphics from our graphics department.

this should eliminate unused wires - unused bandwith - unused ports - and should clean up this horrible mess that the last guy left me.

I'll keep you guys updated....this should be fun....

there wasnt any problems until we got this big fucker:

the iGen3 is only one of two printers in the world that can print indigo. we had to buy it cuz one of our clients (Owens Corning) is doing this cultered stone project and we print out all thier shit...so some of the stones look alike - we need the iGen3 to print out the correct colors

it got us another client - Prudential Insurance...which im not real excited about cuz thier nothing but a pain in the ass
