Fish,

can i safely assume the casino cruise was bailed on ?

i could only figure after a long weekend that a trip across the state would be nixed..

LSU had it coming

What Goes around comes around just ask Nick Saban

<HR style="COLOR: #fdde82" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->LSU and Nick Saban's 2002 season will perhaps best be remembered for the "Bluegrass Miracle" as Marcus Randall's 75-yard Hail Mary pass to Devery Henderson as time expired gave the Tigers an unlikely 33-30 win over Kentucky in one of the wildest finishes to a football game in LSU history. Until today:

Just when it looked as though coach Nick Saban would go out a winner at LSU, the Iowa Hawkeyes came up with a miracle finish.

Drew Tate threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Warren Holloway on the final play. The score capped a wild fourth quarter and spoiled a comeback by the Tigers, who overcame a 12-point deficit with 8½ minutes left. Saban, who will become the Miami Dolphins' coach next week, threw up his arms in frustration and then watched as the entire Iowa team mobbed Holloway in the end zone.

The fickle finger of fate.:toast:

I for one passed on it, mainly because i can hardly walk at the present time after the beating i took on game day contributed by..........

1. Falling down three rows of seats on game winning TD on my backside(my back is in severe pain).

2. Carrying some bimbo for 3 blocks on my back after the game(my legs feel like rubber).

3. Drinking and not making it back from Orlando until 7am in the next morning after partying till the wee hours of the morning.

PS- I AM NO SPRING CHICKEN LIKE I USED TO BE.

Grew up 50 miles from Ia City .. great things in place for that program ...

Saw a Lot of Hawk fans touting this as the greatest finish to a college game ...

NOT EVEN CLOSE ... the Cal / Stanford game and nothing even close ....

Hawks should be tough for the next few yrs with a Top 10 recruiting class coming on board and Tate is the best Soph QB in the country ... Texas fans: Vince Young would start at Iowa - @ WR as Tate is that special

Go Hawks!

Sabin cheated the University, his head was not in game

It was biggest blunder in NCAA history and he can win 2 superbowls and it will mean nothing

He will always have this label of losing this game

Fishhead ...

I go back to the Ed Podolak days ...

back to the days when Iowa wins the NCAA title if Lester does damage his knees in the 80 Semis in Indianapolis ...

Back to the 55-17 buttwhipping Long & the Boys put on Texas in the mid 80s ...

Sat @ Kninnick when #1 Ia beat #2 Michigan in the first game @ Kninnick that had lites ...

Grew up in the Gable era when Gable was THE MAN and that may have been the most dominanance in one Team sport in the last 50 yrs ... I think if I recall that 83 squad had 9 All-Americans ...

Back to the days when Iowa had 3 1st rd NBA picks ... Marble, Armstrong & Company .... and blew that 17 pt halftime lead in the Western Regl finals vs UNLV

Ferentz has Iowa now in a position that if you talk Big 10 football it is Michigan, OSU & Iowa ... they should be dynamite next season and look like a Top 5 team come 2006 as they will have the potential Heisman winner and the best secondary in the country ... just picked up one of the Top FBs in the country from Florida that reminds scouts of Bettis and a RB from Texas that is compared to Peterson .. beat out USC for a top lb from the state of Ohio and Jake Christansen is one of the Top QBs in the country and has committed to Iowa ... one of the toughest stadiums in the country to win in right now and if your are a lineman you have to consider Iowa with their recent run on sending linemen to the NFL ...

Go Hawks !!

YOU SOUND LIKE ME!

LOL!

PS-RONNIE LESTER was one of my favorite Hawkeyes of all-time in any sport, if not NUMERO UNO!

PSS- That MICHIGAN-IOWA game with #1 vs. #2 may ranks right up there with this years bowl game in games that I have personally attended ..........another one is when Iowa defeated Nebraska and Roger Craig 10-7 on a sun-drenched autumn day in the early 80's.

I saw every game Ronnie Lester played at the Fieldhouse as I was a student then. Even followed them to the Final Four in Indianapolis!

I was also at the Iowa #1 vs Michigan #2 game

Fish - one of the best Iowa BB payers you forgot was Vince " These Shoes Were Made For Walking" Brookins! :biglaugh:
