Some funny Olympics lines avaiable @ the greek now.
Take advantage of these now, as most of the games start early tomorrow.
Waterpolo...Croatia -2.5 vs USA. No chance USA covers this spread. Croatia is in world's top 5 right now. USA not exactly a world powerhouse in waterpolo. Grece -3vs Germany. Grece has a very good team right now and with the advantage of playing at home, they will crush the weak German side.
Volleyball...Poland +2vs Serbia and Montenegro. Serbia and Montenegro are ranked #3 in the world right now but Poland is always giving them troubles. SMwill win, but Poland will cover this spread, winning at least one set. Some minor injuries for S&M. Italy -1.5vs team USA. Well, this is the funniest line ever, avaiable at thegreek, period. Italy is ranked #2 in the world and only Italy and Serbia and Montenegro can actually challenge Brazil for the gold. And they always step up in big competitions. No way, I repeat, no way they will lose two sets to team USA. If this bet loses, I will quit gambling.
Basketball...a little bit smaller bets here as the lines are a bit sharper, but stil not sharp enough,IMO. Grece -7.5vs Australia. Yes, Italy defeated USA by 17, only to lose to Australia a few days later. So, you would think Australia is better than USA as well ? They are solid but the Greeks are very good as well, and ROCK solid at home. The only success they ever had in international basketball was when they were the hosts of Euro championships. They are at home now, basketball is almost their national sport # 1 and they will be flying tomorrow. China +10vs Spain. This line will go down a bit. Spain has an excellent team and they went 7-0 in friendly games prior to the Olympics, with all of their wins coming against the Oly. participants. However, China is strong enough to keep it in single digits. Their athlets always give their best @ Olympics. They have Yao, and he should be able to stop Gasol. New Zealand +10.5vs Italy. Yes, the Italians are better but not this much. Remember, New Zealand lost to Serbia and Montenegro in semis two years ago @ World Championships in Indianapolis. Italy has a young team and they are not consistent. One day they beat USA by 17, the other day they lose to Australia. Serbia and Montenegro +1.5vs Argentina. Serbia and Montenegro have the best (white) basketball school in the world and despite their roster problems @ Oly., they have a chance to beat Argentina. They have the best European coach ever, and they are led by the best European player who never played in the NBA, Bodiroga. They miss Divac (LAK), Stojakovic (SAC), Jaric (LAC), Milicic (DET) and Rebraca (LAC) but they stil have a roster full of young NBA players or draft picks like Radmanovic (Seattle), Drobnjak (LAC), Pavlovic (UTA), Rakocevic (T-Wolves until 2003), Vujanic, Krstic, and many more first or second round NBA draftees. Argentina has probably the best team work squad in the tournament, and they want to revenge their loss to Serbia and Montenegro in finals of the last World Championship in Indianapolis, but I'm not so sure they will be able to accomplish that without their starting point guard Pepe Sanchez who got injured in practice today. He is very, very questionable for this game.
Enjoy !
