Opening day of the womens soccer tourney in Beijing tomorrow. Already have a sizeable bet tomorrow:

USA -0.5, -1, -132

USA owns Norway. I don't understand this line at all. I'm not familiar with womens soccer at all, but I do know the US has a very good shot at gold here, and they just own Norway. Here's the recent scores between them:

Norway - USA 0/4
USA - Norway 4/0
Norway - USA 1/4
USA - Norway 1/0

Last 4 games, 3 have been blowouts, the last 3 games in a row have been blowouts. How this line is so low is beyond me, this line should be USA -2 at least! I'll gladly take a shot at this low line.

Canada -2, 2.5, +103

Last meeting between Canada and Argentina, it was a 5/0 blowout. Canada's chicks are no slouches at soccer, they compete in every game. The only team that gives them problems is the USA. As for Argentina, their chicks may be hot, but soccer is not their forte. They have only won 2 out of their last 9 games, some of the games have been blowouts (11-0 to Germany, 6-1 to England) I'll take a shot with Canada here.

Canada/Argentina OVER 3, 3.5, -118

A little insurance on my Canada bet, but I think they will both hit. Canada will get their goals, and to be honest could put this game over themselves. If Argentina keeps this game close, they are going to have to score a few, enough that this will fly over 3.5 goals.

Japan -1.5, -116

Good spot for Japan against New Zealand. In 12 games, Japan has scored 32 goals and conceded only 15. New Zealand on the other hand have only scored 8 goals, yet conceded 25 in 11 games. If Japan wins (and they should) they should get it by 2 goals or more.

Remember, if you tail, I'm just going by stats here, I'm no expert at womens soccer, so be cautious. I now see that US' best player, Abby Wombauch is out (thanks Denniz) but my gut still tells me the US takes this game.

First two chances of the match and Norways scores on both. First...GK Solo got a hand on a cross into the box but she collides into her defender and it deflects off the Norwegian player's head. Second, giveaway by D Markgraf leads to a breakaway that the Norwegian striker nails from a tough angle.

USA needs to get Amy Rodriguez into the match at the start of the 2H. Need her pace and spunk to light a fire.

Midfield, like in the WC not controlling poss. enough. I thought the inexpr. was weened in the last WC...but this is a youngish squad.
