Coming off a 1-0 day winning with Detroit. Today's focus is on Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals. Decided to write this thread early as I expect the line to move, perhaps significantly due to the severity of Sam Cassell's hip and back injuries.
With the Wolves down one game, would normally expect an all out effort in an attempt to even the series and not wanting to go back to L.A. down 2-0. Big problem here however as Sam Cassell is seriously hurting and he may start the game, but end up sitting on the bench just not being able to perform. He did not practice today and it was obvious in interviews with his head coach and teammates, that he runs the offense, they don't have anyone to replace him in running the offense, and they look to him for clutch shots. In my opinion, losing your point guard, particularly Cassell is a huge loss to this team both on the court and mentally. Laker team is aware of Cassell's limitations and will remained focused to try and take Game 2 while the Wolves are trying to figure out a game plan. Hence,
1* L.A. Lakers -2
Overall Unit Record YTD: (185-150.8)(+34.2) 5*(1-0)(+5.0) 3*(10-7)(+6.9) 1*(150-115-7)(+22.3)
Overall W/L Record YTD: (161-122-7) 56.89%
NBA Regular Season Final Record YTD: (17-12-2)(+5.8)
NBA Playoff Record YTD: (11-8-2)(0.0)
Plays are rated 1*-5*
Good Luck All.
